“Here.” He passed me my fluffy blue towel.

“Thanks.” I gave him a smile.

He sat down and I laid my head in his lap.

“Perfect.” I said quietly.

“What?” He asked.

“Everything.” He smiled and we sat in silence for a little bit, just taking in the moment.

“I love you.”

“I love you too.” I responded.

“I wish I could freeze this moment and just live in it forever.”

“Me too.”

I reached over and picked a few flowers from around us and started making a daisy chain.

“Want to go get sushi tomorrow night?” He asked.

“Sure. Wait- I promised my sister we would have a girls night tomarow.”

“and after that I have to fly to France for a week.”

“I’ve never been to France.”

“We should go sometime.”

“That would be fun.”

“We could see that Eiffel tower and explore Paris.”

“Have you been up the Eiffel tower?”

“Once. The view was amazing.”

“Did you eat any French pastries?”

“Of course. My favorite was one that was filled with apple. It’s hard to explain how it tastes but it was really good.”

“It sounds good.”

“Maybe we could rent a little French cottage and explore the countryside.”

“That sounds perfect. “ I closed my eyes and imaged us in Paris and a little French cottage. “It’d be nice to leave California for a while.”

“We could also go to New York and see a Broadway production.”

“That’s always been my goal.”

“To see New York?”

“No. To be on Broadway.”

“You’d be amazing on Broadway.” He leaned down and kissed me.

“You’re the best boyfriend ever Harry.”

“No yet I’m not.”

“What?”

He leaned over to the picnic basket and pulled out a box.

“Oh Harry you didn’t have to! Now I feel bad I didn’t get you anything.”

He handed me the box.  I carefully opened it and pulled out the prettiest silver heart locket I had ever seen. “Oh, Harry.”

“Shh…” He shushed me and motioned for me to sit up. I sat up and handed him the locket. He carefully put it around my neck. “Now, I’m the best boyfriend ever.”

“Harry! It’s beautiful! I love it!” I turned around and kissed him passionately.

My phone ringtone interrupted us (By the way it was Harry’s new song).

I pulled away and quickly check caller I.D.

“Sorry! It’s Beth. She wouldn’t call unless it’s important.” I awnsered the call. “Hello?”

“Mom wants you home.”

“What? I’m on a date. No.”

“It’s important.”

“What’s so important that would interrupt the best day of my life.” I shot a smile at Harry. He smiled back.

“Sydneys awake.” And with those two words my whole world came crashing down on me.
