Mary and her husband Tom have been discussing moving before their son, Malik, enters kindergarten and their daughter, Lydia enters high school.
They soon find a beautiful home in Fairview near wonderful schools for their children. They decide to move when the school year ends for Lydia.
A month later, Mary's family starts packing to move nearly 3 hours away from their old home. She tries to talk Lydia into being happy about the move. "All your friends are moving on to high school, sweetie. You probably wouldn't have seen them often anyway." "Yeah, well now I'm never gonna see them! Why do you hate me!"
The move began 2 days later. There was a lot of boxes moving and tears (mainly from Lydia). Then the family moved out. Lydia fell asleep and Tom was singing songs with his parents.
When they finally arrived everyone was so excited. Including Lydia. The parents got the biggest room, Lydia the second biggest, and Tom the smallest.
*Ding Dong* , Mary quickly opened the door. "May I help you?" asked Mary, politely. "I'm here to give you this", the lady answered. Mary looked down to see a red velvet cake. "I saw the moving truck and thought it only polite to bring something and say welcome home neighbor. My name is Stacy Anderson. I live right next door."
