minho

I CAN'T remember how long it's been since I've gotten a decent night of sleep, but when I wake up in the morning, I actually feel refreshed.

I roll over onto my back and stare up at the ceiling, a small smile forming on my face.

For a moment, I sit there in complete peace and comfort.

But only for a moment.

I begin to think about Yoon and Jinwoo and everything we talked about yesterday.

Then, I get up and take off the clothes I sleep in before wrapping a towel around my waist. I leave the bedroom and move toward the bathroom, stopping to check on Jinwoo.

He's lying on the couch, a blanket pulled over him. He's facing toward me, his eyes closed and his lips slightly parted. He's still sleeping.

I head into the bathroom and start running some water in the shower. As the water is heating up, I take my towel off. Then I test the water before stepping into the shower.

While I'm showering, I think about Yoon. I hope he's talked to someone in the AAN and we're going to be getting more information soon. I think Jinwoo really needs something real about his past.

Jinwoo needs more than that, though.

If he really was a human before, he's still going to have to get used to his life as a Noctura. He still hasn't adjusted, and who knows how long that's going to take?

I think he should get out. Since I saved him at the warehouse, he hasn't been outside the house except to go to Yoon's safe house. I think he needs to get outside somewhere and maybe gain a little experience about this world. And I can help him cope with being a Noctura here.

Lately, I've been missing a lot of work. I feel bad leaving Nikita so much, but she does have other employees and she can handle things on her own. She never questions when I call out for work but I still feel like she's wondering why I've been missing so much.

I'll bring Jinwoo into work with me. He can get out of the house, I can actually do a shift I'm supposed to do, and Nikita will understand why I've been out of work so much.

Once I'm finished showering, I dry off and wrap the towel around my waist. I open the bathroom door and start moving toward the bedroom but I see Jinwoo is now sitting up on the couch.

"Jinwoo," I greet. "Good morning. Did you sleep alright?"

Jinwoo gives me a small nod. "Morning, Minho. Yeah, I slept fine, thank you."

"You sure you slept alright on the couch?" I ask.

"Yeah." He gives me a small smile.

"Okay." I smile back. "I'll be right back."

I go into the bedroom and throw on some jeans and a t-shirt before heading back into the living room.

Jinwoo is in the kitchen, looking through the pantry.

I take a breath as I walk up to him. "You hungry?"

He turns around quickly, his lips parted and his eyes a bit wide.

"It's okay," I tell him. "You can have whatever you want. It's just that... it won't satisfy hunger, remember?"

"Yeah, I remember." Jinwoo nods meekly. "I just... I woke up kind of hungry."

"Who knows how long it was before you finally ate a few days ago?" I shake my head. "Of course you're hungry. I understand. We'll try to get you something soon, okay?"
