*Cameron's POV*

It was finally time to leave San Diego and I was beyond happy. This day had been long and eventful so I was incredibly tired. As soon as I was settled in my bunk, I heard a certain British accent ringing out through the bus. I slowly got out of my bed and, as soon as my feet hit the floor, I ran into Grace. I quickly grabbed her uninjured arm and kept her from falling down.

"Hey there! What are you doing on here?" I asked, smiling at her. She was so beautiful, with her curly brown hair and big hazel eyes.

"Oh, Lou didn't tell you boys? I'm going to be spending the rest of tour with you all! Isn't this lovely?" She asked, sounding very excited. I felt a huge grin stretch onto my face. "Well, I'm going to go get some rest!"

I climbed back into my bunk. "Grace," I asked, she turned to look at me, "Goodnight."

"Goodnight Cameron."

I fell asleep to the sound of light rain pounding against the windows as we drove along the crowded highway.

"Cameron?" Grace asked, waking me from my deep sleep. The light rain was now a full on storm, complete with deafening thunder and lightning so bright it lit up the whole bus.

"What's up?" I said, groggily, rubbing my eyes. She was standing by my bunk, a terrified look on her face.

"Uh well Lou and the others are working on some songs- they're used to UK time- and I don’t want to bother them. I can't sleep and well I'm quite scared of storms." She whispered. I climbed out of my bunk and took her hand. We walked into the kitchen where I put a pot of coffee on the tiny stove. "I'm sorry for waking you."

"Don't be. I'm happy to keep you company." I assured her. I poured the coffee into two mugs and handed her one. She took it gratefully.

"I've been afraid of storms for as long as I can remember. It's always nice to have someone to stay awake with you and distract you from them."

"Well, I guess I'll distract you then." I said, raising my eyebrows and contorting my face into a goofy expression. She giggled.

"You're cute." She said, and then seemed to realize what she'd just told me. She blushed deeply.

"Well you're pretty cute yourself." I said, leaning in. This time she didn't turn away. Our lips molded together and a thousand sparks erupted. Everything was perfect, until he walked in.

*Grace's POV*

When I kissed Cameron, I was sure that we were meant to be. It was incredible. I felt as if we were made for each other. Out of all the other guys I'd kissed, none had ever felt like this. It was all swell, until Niall walked in.

"What's going on?!" He yelled, furious. Cameron and I broke apart. "You told me you weren't ready for a relationship! You don't even know him!" He screamed. He looked so hurt. He took one last angry look at our intertwined hands and then stormed back to the back lounge. I stood up and looked back at Cameron.

“I’ll be back, alright?” I said and he nodded. I ran to the back lounge and knocked on the closed door.

“Who is it?” Harry’s voice called. They weren’t going to let me in after this whole incident. That I knew. I went over to Zach’s bunk and shook him lightly. His clear blue eyes looked up at me, confused.

“Can you do me a favor? I’m afraid I just made a terrible mess.” I whispered to him. He got up quietly. “All I need you to do is say it’s you coming into the back lounge so they’ll open the door.”

He nodded and whisper-yelled through the door, “It’s Zach!”

The door opened slightly and he waved. I took that as my chance and peeked at who’d opened the door. Thank goodness it was Louis. I knew he’d let me through. Zach stumbled back to bed and I pleaded at Louis with my eyes. He sighed.

“Niall won’t be very happy about this,” was all he said before he let me in the room. Everyone stopped what they were doing and turned to look at me standing there, my hair in a messy bun and wearing my British flag pajamas, the closest thing I had to home. Niall averted my eyes. I walked with my head down towards him. I lifted his chin up with my hand so he’d meet my eyes.

“Niall, I know I have made a horrible mess and I intend to fix that mess. I know you feel betrayed and hurt by me. I know you probably hate me but-“

He cut me off. “I could never hate you.” He whispered.

“But if you’d just let me explain please.”

“Go on.”

“I never wanted to hurt you, for this to happen. You’ve got to believe me when I say this- when I told you I wasn’t ready for a relationship I meant it, but feelings can change. I do love you, just not in the way you love me. I’m sorry it had to be said this way.”

“You said it yourself, feelings can change.” He said softly, a glimmer of hope shining in his eyes.

“Niall-“

“Just let him think that. It’ll make him feel a lot better.” Louis whispered in my ear.

“But it’s not true.” I whispered. “Lou, can we go talk somewhere else? I need to talk to you.” I told him, tears streaming down my face. He nodded and we walked to the front lounge. I sat down on the couch and curled up into a ball, sobbing now. Louis rubbed my back soothingly.

“Everything will be alright.” He told me. For some reason I believed him.

“I don’t know what I’m going to do.” I whispered.

“Who do you want to be with?”

“Cameron.” I said softly.

“Then be with him.”

“Y-you’re not mad?”

“Why would I be? It’s your choice. I can’t control it. I’ll talk to Niall okay?” He said getting up.

“Lou? Thanks for being such a great friend.” I called as he exited the room. He turned and grinned at me before opening the heavy door. I got up and walked into the kitchen. Cameron’s face lit up when he saw me and I gave him a weak smile.

“Are you okay?” He asked me as I sat down next to him.

“Yes.” Lie. Of course I wasn’t okay. I’d just kissed a guy I’d just met yet I really liked but hurt one of my friends in the process. And worst of all I’d given Niall false hope. I felt like a horrid person. No one deserves to feel the way I just made Niall feel.

“Are you sure?” He asked knowingly.

“No.” I choked out, tears falling yet again. He enveloped me into a hug and I shook with sobs.

“Shh, you’re okay.” He consoled me.

“Thank you for being here. You’re making me feel a whole lot better.” I told him, my voice muffled because my face was buried into his shoulder. He stroked my hair and I leaned back to look in his eyes.

“I’m glad to hear that. Grace, will you be my girlfriend?”

“I thought you’d never ask.”
