Ignore them as much as possible
Lorelei's mind was set on how she's going to survive this hell called school.
She hated every inch and corner of the hallway as she passed through the crowd of mini skirts and cocky faces of the students of Aldea.
Keep your head low. Do not create eye contact with anyone. Do not get in anyone's way. She thought as she finally reached as she arrived at her locker to unload her books. She slowly closed her locker and and spun her head in case of some unnecessary attention from the students.
The coast is clear. She thought exasperated. Phase 1 cleared.
You might thinks that she's being paranoid but that's all the ever is. She can't help but anxious at every step she takes as she strides through the crowds without gaining any looks from her schoolmates or classmates. She just wants to live a normal highschool life without making a scene, well except one what happened on her first day. Bad memories. No one wants to remember that.
She arrived at her classroom, finally. She sat in her usual sit and placed her bag under her desk. She was the only one in the classroom as always. Her classmates always arrives until the last minute, which was completely fine for her.
She took out her earphones and phone to kill some time. But not even minutes was she given peace as the classroom door banged open revealing a blue haired teenager wearing an oversized varsity jacket and headphones places aroun her neck, entered the room looking pissed and grumpy as she sat beside her.
Maetrix Summers, also known as Trix. Both an introvert and a trouble maker. No one dares to even approach the hot headed girl. She is known to be quite dangerous as how the majortity of students see her. She never really looks for a fight but when you try to get in her way and even try to piss her off.
Hell would break lose. Even teachers and staffs are afraid of her, not only is she quite a troublemaker but her family is a long line of military and policemen. You definitely don't want to with a dangerous bloodline.
Usually she comes to school late looking disheveled or probably with a few bruises on her face only covered by cheap bandages. It was a suprise for Lorelei, an early bird student, who was distinctly trying to not look at her, be at school at 7:30, 30 minutes before classes even.
Lorelei's luck wasn't always the best but she was lucky not to piss off or have any sort of contact with Maetrix Summers. She definitely doesn't want to get involve with someone like her.
Considering the her character..
"Hey."
Her heart almost stopped pounding and her pale hands started to sweat.
Lorelei looked around trying not to look at her seatmate.
"Idiot. I'm talking to you."
She gulped and mustered the courage to look at the girl beside her.
"M-me?"
"Who else? We're the only ones here. Stupid"
"S-sorry." She mumbled, flustered.
"Why do you look like you've seen a ghost? I'm not going to eat you. God! Why does everyone think I'm going to smack them in the face?!"
Lorelei was startled by her sudden outburst and tried her best to muster a reply.
"I'm. But I- I'm sorry! I don't know what to say. I just get flustered and awkward all the time! I'm sorry for screaming. I don't really-No, I mean it's just you seem the type to not talk to people much and I-No no no! That's not what I meant, it's just that-"
"Stop blabbering it's annoying."
Lorelei stopped embarrased."Sorry." She looked down held her phone tightly not knowing what to say.
"Sorry."
I didn't apologize again, did I? No, that's not my voice. She looked at the person beside her looking guilty and red as a tomato with her pale white skin.
"I didn't mean to scare you." she said, with a low voice while gritting her teeth. "It's just that, I just want to talk to someone."
Lorelei felt bad at the current situation. She didn't mean to make her feel like she scared her. Well she was scared, to be completely honest. But that wasn't her intention. Looking at the blue haired girl, she felt like she showed a side she never seen before, or at least what she heard about.
"I'm sorry." Lorelei said, again.
Maetrix looked up completely annoyed by her. "Is that the only word you know? Sorry? What are you even apologizing for? Everyone keeps saying sorry to me and I don't even know what they're apologizing for. Am I that intimidating that everyone keeps saying sorry to me?"
"It's not that! I just-I don't know what else to say." Lorelei almost wanted to slap herself. "Idiot." she mumbled to herself.
"What did you say?"
"N-nothing." she said quickly.
Silence. A long awkard silence surrounded the two. Both not knowing what to say. Lorelei also not knowing what to do in the situation went back to het own business before Maetrix's arrival.
"Look, I wasn't trying to scare you or anything, or hurt. I don't know why everyone seems so afraid of me. It's not like I'm going to kill them or anything."
Lorelei spun her head to Maetrix's direction while sitting in crouched position. Suprised by her words, she wanted to say something to her but dismissed embarrased that she would choke on her words again.
"I just want to ask you on what you're reading on your phone. You seem to be focused on it. Also you've been like an idiot the whole time your we're on your phone since the moment I've arrived."
Lorelei was both and embarrased and shocked by Trix's words. She want to give an at least decent response but all she could say was. "It's Black Butler."
Trix was suprised bg her reply and scooted near her almost envading Lorelei's personal space.
"You read that too? That's a really great manga! I never someone like you would even read something like. Stuff like isn't really known in this school. Girls my age tend to read chick lit novels and stalk men who are ten years older than them and talk about how big their asses are."
"It's not all the time I see someone reading a manga you know? It's nice to see someone with similar likings."
Lorelei thought to herself. This girl read's manga? While looking almost culture shocked at Trix's choice words. She looked at her with suprise that last lasted for 3 seconds as Trix caught herself in the midst and went back to her seat.
She cleared. "You have good taste." She said and ignored her completely after that sentence as she puts on her headphones and turned her gaze at the other side of the room.
Lorelei was still taken aback by what just happened. She gathered herself as she returned her reading position.
That was knew. Her mind still a little fuzzy by what happened. But the whole she was reading her manga there was one thing echoing at the back of her brain.
"You have good taste."
