Ryan's POV

"You haven't said a word to me since yesterday." I tell Mia without looking at her as we're sat at the kitchen table, eating breakfast. "What's up?"

She doesn't say, nothing, she remains silent for a moment. Now she's got my attention. "There's something I have to tell you, Ryan." The sound of her voice makes me lose my appetite. I finish my coffee, before she speaks up again. "I had a doctor's appointment yesterday."

"What's wrong?" I frown, laying my hand over hers, being supportive just in case it's serious.

"I- I'm pregnant..." She says it so quietly.

I'm stunned. This wasn't meant to happen, not yet anyway. It takes me a minute, but I give her hand a squeeze and a fake grin spreads across my face. "That's wonderful news, baby!"

She doesn't seem to think so as she shakes her head, her eyes now locked with mine. "You're not the father, Ryan."

I snatched my hand away instantly. I can't believe what just came out of her mouth. Pushing the chair back, I jump to my feet and grab her by the arm, pulling her up. "You cheated on me?" I ask the obvious, my voice very even, but I'm nowhere near to being calm inside. She nods her head just a little. "When? With whom?"

"You're hurting me." She says, her eyes welling up with tears. "Let go of me."

But I only tighten my grip. "Who is the bastard you cheated on me with?"

Was this how Stevie felt when I did the same thing to her? I'm not in love with Mia, I didn't expect this reaction from myself. Why would she look elsewhere? She's got everything she needs and more right here with me!

"Brandon." She whispers and I let go of her roughly, like she asked, causing her to stumble backwards. "I'm sorry, Ryan. I don't know why I let it happen, just-"

"Save it." I raise my hand, I don't want to listen to any of her bullshit. "Here's what's going to happen. You're going to keep your pretty little mouth shut, you won't tell anyone and you're going to get rid of it." I see her shaking her head from across the kitchen, so I march over to her, gripping her shoulders. "What do you mean?"

"I'm keeping the baby." She dares to say it out loud, looking right back at me. "And my Mom knows already, Dad does too."

My breathing is heavier now as I stare at her face, gritting my teeth. "Then you'll tell them you got it all mixed up, that it's not true."

"They're not going to believe me."

"Make them believe you!" I yell, now I'm angry.

Fuck! Fuck!!! I want to scream! This wasn't supposed to happen this way. I thought I had all the time in the world and this bitch ruined it!

"I don't think our relationship is going to work." Mia speaks up and I narrow my eyes at her. She's got something else to say. "I'm keeping the baby and I'm going to tell Brandon. We're over, Ryan."

Without thinking, I slap her across the face. Her hand covers her burning cheek, but I don't stop and I push her hard enough causing her to fall down. Bending over, I grab a fistful of her hair and pull her face close to mine.

"You're wrong. The damage is done, but maybe it's not over yet. Maybe you haven't ruined it completely."

"Wh- what's not over?" She stutters, crying. "What are you saying?"

"That's for me to know and you to never find out." I stand up straight again, leaving Mia a sobbing mess on the floor. I have to leave otherwise I'll do something worse. I mean, I did pay a guy to run over Amanda just because she became an inconvenience.

On my way out of the kitchen, I stop in the doorway. "You're going to calm down and call your mother. You're going to tell her that you've changed your mind. I'm going to arrange another doctor's appointment for you to get an abortion as soon as possible."

"I won't do it!" She manages to shout through her cries.

Clenching my fist, I'm in front of her again. "We can do this the easy way or the hard way. Either you're going to get that thing removed professionally or I'm going to kick it out of you."

She looks away, keeping her mouth shut. I leave, jogging up the stairs, headed for my room. I take the key out of my back pocket, I keep it with me at all times. Unlocking the door, I push it open and enter the room, locking the door from the inside. I grab a bottle of whiskey, taking a swig without caring to use a glass. I sigh heavily and sit down in the leather chair, looking around the room. I haven't counted them, but there are a definitely a couple hundred pictures of Stevie everywhere. I bought a bunch from various collectors, I cut some out of magazines, I have several that Stevie's given me herself. Those are precious to me. Of course, there are some more intimate ones, too. She would kill me if she knew I took pictures of her, completely naked, while she slept, back when we were still together. I also have a few tapes locked in a safe... The only word I can think of to describe her is a goddess. She's the most beautiful woman I have ever laid my eyes on. I'm in love with her, I'm... I'm obsessed with her. I want her. I need her. My plan might not have gone the way that I wanted to thanks to Mia, but I'm still going to get Stevie one way or another. That's a promise.
