My heart was racing as my feet pounded on the ground. I completely underestimated how difficult it would be to run with a suitcase. Leaving it wasn't an option though, my whole life lay in that suitcase. The dense woods of this property was not helping but I couldn't take the risk of going by the path. There was no doubt they would have realized i was gone by now, and possibly alerted the goons at the gates not to let me leave. With a little luck I could scale the wall and run for as long as possible. I let out a small curse seeing a medium height middle aged man standing in between me and my fate and I was completely prepared to knock him down, bu I recognized the familiar green eyes. A  light sheen of sweat was present on his tanned skin. His eyes met my own with a knowing expression. Reaching him I stopped, my lungs were about to give out, only  a single word would escape from my lips.

"please."

my eyes desperately flickering around my surroundings.

Wordlessly he indicated for me to follow him to the wall, there he revealed an opening mostly covered in foliage. The gap reached right under the wall to the other side. I wanted to throw myself  him and show him my gratitude, but I settled for a quiet thank you, taking out the small carving from my pocket i gave it to him before dropping to my knees and burrowing my way out to the other side and puling my small suitcase through. My top stuck to my back in sweat and my my breaths were coming in short and fast, each breath hurting more than the last. I was out but my journey was long from over.

A/N this is a short first chapter littered with mistakes but I hope you stick around to read the rest, any suggestions appreciated and thank you for reading. I'm really hoping for this story to go somewhere (fingers crossed).
