As soon as I walk out the doors, the warm air hits my skin. The sounds of bustling traffic and the chatter of people, was music to my ears.

I'd missed this place.

The sights, the smells, the architecture. But most importantly, I missed the food. All that pizza, and pasta, and gelato. It can't get any better than gelato.

"Alia! Over here" a voice called. I turned towards the voice and a smile broke out over my face.

"Luca! Oh my god. It's so good to see you after so long", I said, running over and wrapping him up in a hug. "How have you been? How's the family?".

"It's good to see you too," he replied, returning the hug, "and the family is well".

"It's good to be back in Sicily" I said, as we walked towards the car park. "Hopefully it will be better than last time".

"Yeah, I heard what had happened. Between Elijah and yourself," Luca began as we reached his, before unlocking it and shoving my bags in the boot, "Siena told me".

"Siena told me". Of course she did.

"Oh? And what exactly did she tell you?" I asked as he started the engine and drove out of the carpark, leaving the airport behind.

"That you guys had a big fight. That it was over her. You were jealous or something?" he answered, glancing at me. "I don't really remember what else she said. It was five years ago".

How dare she. I was jealous?

Anger flooded through me. I thought I'd gotten over this years ago, but just the mention of her continuous lies had me livid.

"Well let me clarify what happened and then that will be the end of the 'Elijah and Alia had a fight' conversation" I said, focusing on the road in front of me'.

"Clarify away" Luca replied as he turned left onto a dirt path.

"Well firstly, I was not jealous. Siena was. Very much so," I began, glancing over at him and finding his forehead and eyes crinkled in confusion. "so much so that she hatched this plan to get rid of me because she wanted him all to herself, and well she couldn't do that if I was still in the picture".

"Really? She had a plan? What'd she do?"

"Well," I began, rolling my eyes at the memory, "firstly, she had put a bunch of her stuff in my room – without my knowledge – and them claimed I had stolen them."

"She actually did that?"

"Yep. And of course I didn't have any proof that she did that, until I heard her on the phone later that day, talking to some friend and explaining to them what she did".

"That bitch!"

I laughed at his response. "But wait it gets better.

"I confront her about it, saying I heard the whole thing. And of course, she denies it and proceeds to run into Elijah's arms with a sob story about how I'm jealous of the two of them, and something about how I didn't want him to be happy with her.

"And well she got that last part right. Then when I told Elijah what happened, he didn't believe me because there had already been that problem before about me apparently stealing her crap.

"So we fought. Said words to each other. Then I went to my room, got my bags and left that night, and continued the trip by myself".

"Wow" Luca said, eyebrows high on his forehead in disbelief. "That's some messed up stuff right there".
