 Part One, Lily.

She just stood there. Without making a noise, I gazed at her translucent white skin and icy blue eyes as they stared into the dark streets of Birchtree

“He is here.” She whispered

“Who’s here?” I asked as she began to move towards me.

“Through one boys soul, Behold the darkest of times”

My Peacock Blue dress blew in the wind, my straight black hair getting in my face.

“Who is he? What does he want?” My breath getting heavier.

“He’s coming.” The ghostly girl said, beginning to slowly move down the street.

Then, she was gone and i was awake.

With a deep breath my eyes broke open.

“Poppa-”  I screamed for my grandfather out of fear.

Rushing into my room, Poppa spared no time to reach me.

“Charlie. It’s okay.” He comforts me, Stroking my head.

“It was a dream, Pop. It was just a dream.” I  rested my head onto the cold side of my pillow.

“All a dream. Anyway, Get some sleep Char.”

I rest my head down, And wait for sleep to come.

Friday 21st, April.

Let me introduce you to my weird and wonderful Family.

First there's my Grandfather, or Poppa as i like to call him. He used to be a full-time Gardener and was well known across Birchtree for his flamboyant hedge designs. He’s always been my number one supporter and he’d  do anything for me, even risk his life to save me.

Then there's my Nana who’s quiet and can usually be found down at Birchtree’s Parlour or shopping for expensive and unneeded gifts for us at Gertrude’s Goodies Store. She’s a bit Uptight and we haven’t always seen eye to eye, but i guess i’m stuck with her.

Next is my brother Elias, He’s eight and a big pain in the behind. He’s a geek and a little know-it-all. I wish he would just disappear sometimes. I don’t wanna forget our German shepherd Mordor, He thinks hes a guard dog but really he’s just a cuddly ball of happiness.

Then there's me. Charlie (Char) Cordelia Montgomery. I listen to Rock music up loud and have posters of rockers and explorers up on my wall. I’m pretty tall for my age, Scaling above my classmates and even my nasty teacher Mrs. Gripe (With that last name, You wouldn’t blame her.) I wear short skirts, Not in the slutty way. I go for more of a cool look. I wear my hair down as long as it is, Tying it up just agitates me. I’m a bit outspoken and have my opinions and i don’t stray away for a good argument.

So thats us. No parents, They ran away together when I was a toddler. But i guess that’s for another story.

Saturday 22nd, April.

I should probably tell you why i decided to write in this journal. It was completely out of the blue, really. I wanted to get all my thoughts and feelings out on the page, Cheesy as it sounds. Even my Poppa wouldn’t understand half of the things that take place in my brain.

Charlotte Cordelia Montgomery. Born in the winter of  1963 I am now 15 years old. I haven’t spoken of my past with anyone before, it’s dark and full of secrets, Secrets no one could just guess by just looking at me.

Let’s start with a secret.

When i was 9 years old, I snuck out of our family’s 4 storied mansion to go look for my friend who had gone missing. The thing was, There was no friend. It was all in my head. I had apparently made her up, naming her Lily and talking to her on a day-to-day basis, She wasn’t just my best friend. Lily was my only friend and she’d told me stories and tales of heroes and monsters, I’d tell her my feelings.

Then one day, Lily was gone.

She had left a trail of clues for me to find her, but all i found was her corpse.

She lay by the River Dermond, Beautiful and angelic. She had been there for 13 years. As I approached her I noticed cuts covering her wrists and neck.

Suddenly, she wasn’t so beautiful, more of a ugly dead girl that had been tore apart by some monster.

I cried for an hour, picking flowers and sprinkling them across Lily’s lifeless body.

Poppa found me by the river where i had fallen asleep. He told me he had not seen a dead girl there, He told me i was alone. Poppa was lying.
