 Jessica's POV

It was one of those days that you wake up pass the time you're supposed to get up and you finally realized what time it is. I was having those days right now.

A long line of cars were ahead of me when I was about 5 minutes away from my work building. London traffic wasn't bad unless there's a car crash or construction. I was already late because I forgot to set my alarm last night since I got home at 9 pm, even though I usually get off at 7 pm. Then I had to complete paper work that I didn't get done at work, which lasted me 3 hours. So I went to bed at midnight, and didn't get a good enough sleep.

"Great." I sighed. I reached over into my cup holder and picked up my phone. If i'm going to be late, I might as well call Mr. Horan, and let him know for my tardiness. My fingers traced the pattern that unlocked my phone as the cars outside started beeping. The time read 9:30 am and I let out a frustrated groan. If I wasn't distracted last night by the Doctor Who marathon, I would've finished my work within an hour, and would've been to sleep at my usual time.

A beeping noise was heard from my phone as I dialed Mr. Horan's work number. The dial tone rung as I pressed the phone against my ear. It rung few times, but he never picked up. He's probably at a meeting or went to do an errand. Even though that's my job since i'm his assistant, and his "toy". I dropped the phone on my lap and watched the traffic start moving a little. My foot instinctively pressed down on the accelerator as I moved up. Since I was close to make a right turn, I flipped the switch to turn on the right head light.

A buzz suddenly rung through my legs as I waited patiently for the car in front of me to make their turn. My eyes travelled downwards to my lap, and saw that it was Mr. Horan. I let go of my tight grip on the steering wheel with one of my hands, and hit the answer and speaker button.

"Hello?" I placed my hand back on the steering wheel to make the turn. Paper shuffling was heard through the phone for a while until I heard a soft and tired voice answer back. "Where the hell are you. I had a package that you should've picked up, but instead I had to." His voice had a harsh edge to it and I couldn't help but feel a shiver through me. Mr. Horan has never talked to me like that since I started to work here. Usually he would talk to me gently, or in a normal tone of voice.

I gripped the steering wheel tightly as the paper shuffling continued. A sigh escaped my lips as I pulled in the parking lot. I shamefully replied, "Sorry, I went to bed late last night because I was finishing my incomplete work, which made me end up going to sleep at midnight. Then I woke up late this morning, because I forgot to set my alarm, and there's traffic on the main road." The shuffling finally stopped, and I can hear Mr. Horan sigh. I turned my car off and reached for my purse in the passenger seat.

"When you get here, drop your stuff off and come to my office. Immediately." The dial tone came on again, which meant that he hung up. He's really mad at me. I wouldn't blame him though because it is my fault that I didn't set my alarm, and finish my work late at night.

I got out the driver's seat and locked my doors. The gravel from the lot crunched under my heels as I walked inside the building.

A strong scent of incense hit me as I walked inside. It was warm and calming in the lobby since it was its the middle of Fall and a bit crazy outside with the traffic on main road. A small sigh was released as I felt the tension I was feeling, disappear. The lady at the front desk was chatting idly on the phone as she was typing on the computer. I gave her a greeting, and headed towards the elevator. I pressed the 'UP' button and watched the floors of the elevator flash as it passed them. The elevator doors opened moments later. I stepped inside and saw that it was empty. I pressed the second floor button, and watched the doors closed.

Memories came flooding to me from the last time I was in this elevator. When me and Mr. Horan "did it" in here. A cold shiver ran through me as I was going up. Those memories would keep coming back every time I get on this elevator. Maybe I should start taking the other one from now on. The elevator doors dinged open and I stepped off. My purse was weighing me down, but I realized I had to hurry up and go to Mr. Horan's office. He's already pissed at me and I don't want him so angry that he'll fire me.

I hurriedly walked inside my office and plopped my stuff down on my office chair. I'll get settled when I come out of Mr. Horan's office. I closed the door, and quickly turned down the corner. His office wasn't far from mine so that I can make it in his office if he needs anything immediately.

The gold plaque by his door read 'Niall Horan, CEO'. I gave a nervous knock and waited patiently for his reply. The tired voice that I heard on the phone earlier gave me a 'come in'. I opened the door, and saw Mr. Horan looking at his computer screen tiredly with his chin in his hand. His rarely dull blue eyes roamed the screen through his black big frame glasses. He looked up at me, and waved me over.

I carefully walked over, and stood beside him. My eyes went to his computer screen and saw that he was reading a email that looked very long. He looked up at me and his long pale fingers reached for my chin. Another cold shiver ran through me as he grabbed it. I gave a soft gasp as he brought my face close to his. He opened his mouth and started talking.

"I didn't invite you to have sex. So don't worry. I'm too tired, and I just wanted to see you." He attached his lips to mine as if we were dating. The kiss was passionate like yesterday in the elevator. A shock ran through me as he pulled me on his lap. His hand touched my hair and began to run his fingers through it.

I started to kiss him back as he kissed and touched me gently and in a nonsexual way. But a set of knocks was suddenly heard on the door. Our lips froze against each other as if the world was ending.
