THE HEART BREAKS -12

Shivaay's heart broke with final touch of the confirmation of the dreaded news. He couldn't express it, thus, was standing still like a person in shock.
Anika's sobs were unstoppable, and she couldn't meet her eyes with him.

They were in her room at present. She was sitting on the beanbag, trying to normalise her breathing rate; failing miserably every time,and he was standing near the window witnessing the sunset which could have been much more beautiful that day.

The silence couldn't have been more awkward. Sighing, shivaay, turned towards her, his eyes reflecting pain and a lot of questions, only to find her staring at him, with tearful eyes that could break loose any moment. His face turned to a sad smile, to empathise her. The next moment, tumbled his balance, as he soon found himself in a bone crushing hug from Anika who just couldn't stop shedding tears and mumbling something inaudible to him. She looked in eyes which reflected a never seen before emotion, and that spoke more than her words. Both went numb and silence prevailed.

Soon after the normalcy returned, shivaay soothed her and stood back. He turned towards the door, while both were looking towards each other, and thousands of words were spoken without words.

Days passed by, but shivaay didn't lose the count. For he, was counting the number of days, hours, and minutes he has with Anika to cherish and create lifelong memories. He had started to go to college, the one where both of them had decided that they'll go together. Alas, life is unexpectedly challenging!

Both of them spent the evening together, daily. They would pack the stuff, play, revisit the photo albums, and do many other crazy stuff, believing that they'll not be able to do later.

Meanwhile, Anika had a myriad of emotions inside her. She was also, trying her best to spend most of the time she can, with him. She knew, both of them felt for each other, they loved each other!

She was about to propose her love to him on the drastic day she got the news of her planned departure. The whole day got ruined. All this, now seemed worthless to her, as she'll be leaving soon, and she decided not to speak anything on that matter, on that day.
But today, she has finally gathered some courage and decided to go to him. She decided, whether she goes or not, the fact can't be changed that she does love him. It's better to tell him, and then leave. Atleast, she won't be guilty of hiding her feelings.
