" You'll always be my crush at first sight, Shivaay! If love isn't in our destiny, let us make us feel some amount of happiness by this only. Thank you for coming in my life and giving me the best moments to cherish! I can't thank you enough for the sweetest acts of care by your side, when I came here; and was alone. We'll meet very soon, I promise. And I know, you didn't mean any of those words you said that day, and I shall try to  forgive you for that." Said Anika, for maybe the last time to him.

She quickly hugged him a goodbye, and left with her family to board the plane. Tears were hidden, but eyes always spoke everything, and all the whirlpool of emotions inside both of them was readable from their eyes. She wanted to say ' I love you' for once, but he had finished it all.

In the world of aspirations, I wished to be your greatest aspiration.- Me

These lines, suited him like it were made for him. He wanted to be her greatest aspiration, when he was the one who ruined it for them.

He closed his eyes, to hide his tears, remembering that disheveling day.

Anika was at his doorstep wanting to say it all. Pressing the bell, she waited patiently, until welcomed by his mother  who had a slight hint of something-wrong-is-happening kind of face.  Shrugging away these thoughts, she went towards him room and giggled evertime when she used to see that spiderman sticker on his door- whose legs were torn away.

Peeping from the door, shocked she was.  He was lying there, in an inebriated state; an alcohol bottle was there, murmuring something inaudible to her.
She ran to him, and helped him getting up while trying hard to understand what he was saying.

After a lot of efforts, she could catch his murmurs: ' You're going away', ' I hate you', 'Leave', 'I need you', and a lot more. Surprised, she counter questioned him, to which he replied some meaningless answer. After asking several questions, her patience was almost gone, that she shouted at him, to answer her. Taken aback, he retorted to her questioning her care for him, when she was the one who was about to leave.

His heart stopped for a nano-second, when she entitled the care for him as her love to him. She confessed it, though crying, but finally she did.

He looked in her eyes, which now twinkled with a never seen before relaxation and a  sort of content.

' What are you even speaking? I am the one who's taken alcohol, but you seem the drunk one. You are going to leave for India in a few days, Anika. For god sake! Please tell me this isn't true.' Spoke Shivaay.

'Why do you say that? Don't you love me? I know, we both know, that it's something more than friendship between us. Something more pious and beautiful. Wait, are you hiding this because am leaving? Please tell me, it's not true. I love you, I really do! I was just not able to gather enough courage to tell it! Please say something, atleast.' Winced Anika, hurt upon what he said.

' What are you even saying, girl?  Love? Really? You were just a crush, that too, when we were much younger. Times change, people change too. What made you think that I love you? I know, we're the best of friends, but love?' Said he, laughing away the topic with a hint of guilt in his eyes.

' Really? Who are you trying to fool? You or me? Don't lie more. I can't stand it. I know, you're hurt, but that doesn't mean that you'll act insane! Do you understand, am leaving in a couple of days? God knows, when we'll meet again, and here we are, listening to god knows what rubbish you're saying. Is there something that you're hiding from me? Oh come one, say something dammit!'  Shouted she, when her mind stopped thinking and unable to comprehend anything.

' No dear, there isn't anything. I know, I was upset upon hearing the news of yu going away, I am upset even now, but it was just as a best friend is sad for another one. Look, I don't want to hurt either of us, anymore. So it'll be better, if you leave.' Spat he to the shocked anika.

Rather, saying she was shocked would be an understatement. She was shooked, her existence seemed null. Here she was, listening to the love if her life: her first serious crush, first love, saying utter nonsense and hurting words to her, when she was there to confess her live to him and was about to leave the county in a few days. This seemed a dream, a bad one but it wasn't.

' Okay, if  that's what you wish- I shall fulfill this too. Am leaving, forever! I don't know why you drank at the first place and spoke all this. But let it be, because people speak the truth in a drunk state, and maybe that's the truth of our baseless friendship, or any other relationship. If your conscience permits, atleast come to the airport to see me goodbye one last time'. Saying so, she left his room, his house, without even turning back once. Maybe that's what the the destiny wanted.

Here they were, standing at the Sir Seewoosagur Ram Goolam International Airport, with the luggage, and trying to say something. After that dreaded day, he tried contacting her, apologizing numerous times, but all in vain. She didn't reply to any of them.

He was shocked with himself, god knows what happened to him that day that he spoke all that. Maybe it was due to the bubble of emotions inside him which burst out like a volcano on her. Maybe he was too upset, that he didn't want to feel alone after she left, resulting in him saying all that. No reason or excuse could justify it whatsoever. He did the biggest sin of his life- making her cry, upsetting her, desiring his live for her when she herself was saying so and destroying their friendship.

She seemed lost in her own world, her dark eyes reflecting confusion and sadness, and was thinking something.
Where he was standing with his head hung low, clearly guilty of what he did.

Both wanted to say thousands of things to each other. Maybe, it would have been best if she hadn't visited his home that day. If not a lover, atleast she would have had her friend by her side.

Upon hearing the flight announcement, she and her family began their way to board the plane. Their hearts were thumping loudly. Maybe, they'll never see each other again.

Before leaving, he finally spoke something to her. How could someone be so kind, so great? She forgave him? If words were enough, he could write a novel for her.

Hastily, she went inside, not before giving the goodbye!

She left, and he murmured a 'I love you'.
