There's more I'd add to this but, eh, I'm no writer. So I'll let you do what you will. Anyone else wanna go hunt a clone after what was said to Keith? My heart hurt for him so much.
She used to be a seamstress, a long time ago. Considered the best at her craft. Maybe too good. It's what led her into this predicament.  She had designed the wedding dress of a well known witch at the time.  She loved her dress and thought that a good way of expressing her gratitude was by granting immortality,  after all what mortal didn't want to live forever?  Obviously,  the seamstress. So for many years she continued as she was,  designing,  but when people began to notice she didn't age,  she switched professions.  Dancer,  baker,  writer, decorator,  etc. What ever to stave of the boredom and loneliness. She lived through the ages. When it became possible,  she'd settle for a bit in an area and foster kids,  doing what she could to help them.  She had accumulated now than enough wealth to sustain herself and another,  so whatever money given to get by the state would be put in an account for whichever child to access when they turned 18.
This was all she could think to do for the kids who had been given a poor stay to life. And often her kids would either find their forever family,  or reach the age where they don't need her anymore.  And she'd only leave after her kid was gone, so as to not cause suspicion,  only leaving a way for her foster to get a hold of her should they need it.  They'd always contact at some point,  either to tell her of them finding a spouse they want her to meet or of a new grandchild,  cause after all,  while she may not have adopted them,  she was still mom.  One day she was given this little boy, the youngest she'd ever had,  withso much anger and hurt in his heart.  She ached for him,  for what had caused him to have to hide himself behind barbs and small bruised fist.  So she started small,  letting him no that she would stay for as long as he needed her.  She never let him feel as if he were alone.  She gave him a place to call home.  And he began to thaw.  Not to outsiders,  no,  but with her he could be an actual child.  As he began to get older, she realized that this was one little boy she couldn't handle leaving behind, one who was hers. And she didn'tthink she could let him go.  So for the first time,  she adopted a child.  And she was a mom in more than just heart.

I'm writing this at 5:30 in the morning after no sleep but it popped upso here's what a possible conversation between Keith,  Kolivan,  and seamstress might be about Keith leaving Voltron and joining the Marmora.

Keith: Mom, maybe you should stay here.

S: As if. You really think I'm gonna let you go with Mr."Knowledge-or-Death"? Not a chance.  You are my son. I refuse to let anything happen to you. I already made the mistake of letting you go once. I'm not gonna let it happen again.

Kolivan: Do not question how the Blade operates. We've been fighting this war for far longer than you. The Blade can't waste time and man power watching after some human woman who...

S: Shut your mouth, childI have been alive for hundreds of years. I have fought wars. I have killed. I have seen great horrors. Do not dare presume me incapable.  I have seen more than you could think to understand.  So watch what you say before I....

Keith: Mom! Enough, we get it. You're coming with. But why didn't you tell me any of this before?

S: Keith, I'm not proud of what I've done in the name of some spoiled man's cause. Sometimes, the skeletons in our closets still rattle the hangers until sleep is a distant memory.  And you've always known I could fight, just didn't know quite how capable I am.
So! Let's get going.

Kolivan: Would you still wish to go knowing your son will meet his true mother?

$: Didn't I say he's my son? No matter what he will always be mine, even if I'm not his"
