» boy on the bridge

he stands on the bridge, cool breeze in his hair,

he doesn't see me, and nor does he care.

i know what will happen, I've seen before,

the breath, the jump, the body on the floor.

i can do nothing, confined just to watch,

as the tears on his cheeks thicken a notch.

the stars above us, they shimmer so bright,

he thinks he'll soar there when his soul takes flight.

away from torment, and away from pain,

he, like me, thought he had nought left to gain.

sky more attractive than this deep hollow,

gone from depressed truth in which to wallow.

he, like me, splashed below, breath gone, eyes closed,

all 'cause our sad thoughts were left unopposed.
