Chapter 1: An old friend

The water in the bathtub started to drop in temperature since i've been sitting in the chilly water for literally 45 minutes still yet to wash my hair or body, I just sat and waited for my brain to comprehend the fact that Ryder my childhood best friend and crush is coming to stay with my family for the entire summer.
I just graduated high school and the idea of Ryder being anywhere near me since he moved away in 2nd grade is terrifying.I mean I'm technically a college freshmen and I can't handle a simple boy I had a crush on when I was 8.I don't know what I'm going to do it's not Like I haven't had any boyfriends in high school I had plenty but everything with Ryder just seems so unfinished.

"Paige get out of the bath you've been in there nearly an hour and he's going to be here in 20 minuets."

the sound of my mom screeching at me from downstairs shatters my calm state of mind.

Shit I do not have time for this he's going to be  here very soon and at the moment the only thing I have going for me is that i'm extremely naked.I rush out of the tub making sure to drain the water.I wrapped my towel around my dripping wet body that can't help but shiver from the intense AC flowing through my house.I ran downstairs to the basement where my room is to get dressed and put some makeup on so I don't look like an actual shrub.As soon as I get into my room I drop my towel and rummage through my closet in a hurry until I find the black off the shoulder tube top and white jeans that work in basically every situation.After throwing my clothes on I slip on my black and white checkered vans and start putting on concealer under my eyes and on some small red spots.I pop on some mascara and highlighter then add lip balm so it doesn't look like I tried to hard.Then I realized my hair is still dripping down my back so I just brushed it out real fast and braided it in two dutch braids to frame my face.

Right as I was picking up my wet towel off the ground I came face to face with the one and only Ryder Michaels, his old short boyish golden brown curls are now styled and gelled into soft messy peaks, his light blue eyes have now shaped his face perfectly and even the fluorescent lights of my basement can't dull the way they could make anyone smile, his lips the same as they've always been a shade of light pink and the shape of what I can only explain as absolutely delicious.

In the moment it all came back to me all the jokes and laughs I completely disregarded the towel on the ground and hugged his taught toned torso that anyone would want to see shirtless.

"Paige I haven't seen you in forever how ya been kid!"

KID.What the actual fuck is that supposed to mean.He's literally like 2 months older then me.

"Oh you know the usual, school,boys,parties the whole thing."

I giggle at the end knowing that there were many parties and even more boys.I mean what can I say I'm a woman of many wishes and one of them is when I want dick I get dick, no matter how or who it comes from.I mean i've dated people and all but flings are less dramatic and mess free.

"For real High school was a hell of a ride but damn you seemed to of gotten out pretty scuff free."

Did he just smirk at me???I swear there was lust bouncing in his eyes as he stood in front of me towering over at 6 feet tall.
He's way taller then I am I'm 5'2 and have the muscle capacity of the wall I mean I work out to keep the booty lookin' good but I'm still pretty average looking, Ryder on the other hand is way above average.

"Looks like you did alright too." I stepped out of the hug to avoid any awkward prolonged affection.

Damn that smile.

"So where will I be sleeping?"

I nod in response and walk him out into the rest of the fully done basement. My room is just a part of the basement if you walk out my bedroom door theres a hallway that leads to 3 rooms, my room, my bathroom, and the guest room.Before you walk into the hallway theres a furnished room with a large black sofa and a flatscreen t.v on the wall.

I walk him out in to the hall and show him the guest room and the bathroom.

"thanks, Im so glad I get to stay with you guys this summer it's gonna be so fun." He adjusts his hair and runs his fingers through the golden masterpiece sat atop his head.

"No problem me and my mom are happy to have you stay here until your parents can find a new house in the area."

I let him go into his room to get settled and decided to go upstairs and get some iced coffee from the kitchen.

I walked up the cold basement stairs and into the kitchen, there isn't any coffee in the cabinet or the machine. Goddamit.

"Mom, are we out of coffee?" I yell so she can here me from her upstairs bedroom.

"What?" she yells back equally as loud.

"Coffee do we have any?" I yell again

"Huh." never mind then guess i'm going out for coffee.

UGH.

I grab the keys to my white mini cooper and my wallet off the counter.I go to my car and immediately turn on my Spotify playlist.

*KNOCK* *KNOCK*

I jump at the muffled noise and turn towards the passenger window.Ryder stands in the window with a smile.I roll down the car window.

"hey whats up I was just going to get some coffee."

"I was wondering if I could come and see the town I haven't seen the city in so long."

I unlocked the car doors and he sat down in the seat next to me.
This was going to be a long drive.
