Barely Made It

Harley and Jordan's faces turned white. Jordan looked at Harley. "What do we do?" he mouthed to her. "Run for it!" Harley exclamation. In a flash, Harley grabbed Jordan's hand and darted out the door. They ran right past Captain Anne Bonny and the other pirates. "Get them!" the captain shouted. The pirates chased Harley and Jordan all through the ship. The two started down a long hallway. Harley still had Jordan's hand when she realized that the hallway was cut off by a wall. She turned her head the other way to see that the pirates were headed towards them. "We're trapped," Jordan said. Suddenly, the portal appeared at the end of the hallway. "Look!" Harley exclaimed as she pointed to the portal. The two ran to the portal as the pirates got closer. They jumped through the portal just before the pirates could catch them. Harley and Jordan landed on the ground. "Wow. That was something," said Harley. "I guess the key wasn't in that portal," Jordan said. Demetrius appeared. "Well, I see you both barely survived in the first portal," he said. "You can see us in the realms?" asked Harley. "Yep," Demetrius replied. "Better get on to the next realm. Time's ticking." Then, he disappeared. Harley stood to her feet. "On to our next adventure," she said, pulling Jordan off the ground. They stepped into the second portal.
