This was the first time Aki had received a visitor in centuries. And so, this could only mean that she had been given yet another soul to terrorise. She couldn't care less about the affairs of others. However, Mother had told her that this was her place. Her birthright to torment those who deserved it. It seemed as if more and more people had forgotten her, and so less and less evil souls had been brought for punishment. Aki remained strong though. This was her place. Her realm of darkness, given to her by her mother. She couldn't leave it.
Aki watched as the portal glowed an ominous red, and in walked three men. Two mortals, one creature. She examined them from the shadows, hidden from their sight. She pulled her cloak closer.
"Crowley, what the hell is this? We aren't in Hell, are we?" asked one of the mortals. He was shorter than the other mortal, but taller than this 'Crowley.'
The creature called Crowley turned and looked around. He wouldn't see anything beyond the glowing light of the portal, Aki knew. Yet he held a knowing gaze as he looked into the darkness.
"You boys wanted a way to keep Lucifer locked tight, right? Well, this is the only way I know of that we haven't tried yet. You should be grateful. It took ages to find this."
The tall mortal spoke. "Are we going to just bring him here? How do you propose we do that?"
"We don't. Some one else does. Er, pardon. Achylus, is it?"
Aki moved forward. The mortals were suitably startled, the creature blinked. She looked out from the shadows of her cloak.
"What do you require of me?" she asked.
He flinched at her voice. She knew the pain it inflicted. She was the mist before Death, the chaos in the night. Her voice was sharp with misery, cutting like knives.
"We have a soul for you."
"His crimes?" Aki tried to keep her sentences short.
The small mortal spoke again. The righteousness in his voice grated in her ears. "He's Lucifer. You know. Satan."
Aki looked at the creature. "I am Achylus, daughter of Nyx. I am the mist before death. My entire being tortures those of the living. I'm the embodiment of misery. I care not for your demons and angels. What are his crimes?"
Aki's words cut like knives. Crowley raised his hands. "Forgive me, Achylus. He does not understand exactly what you are."
Aki looked down at him. "Just as I do not know what you are. No introductions have been made. Do you think just anyone can make demands of me?"
"No, my goddess. I am Crowley, a demon, and these two are Sam and Dean."
"Mortals. Usually I judge their kind. What has this Lucifer done that warrants me? False accusations result in a worse fate than he will ever get."
"His crimes are many. Murder and torture to name a few."
"How is that different from what you have done? From what any of you have done?"
"He is determined to rid the earth og mortals."
Aki withdrew further into the shadows. With the mortals gone, none would fear the dark. There would be no need for night. Her mother would fade away. And Aki would remain. Alone.
"I will find him. You must remain to verify that I have sought the correct soul. Tradition dictates it so."
"How long will it take?" Dean asked, widening his stance almost threateningly.
"Not very long, mortal." Aki avoided his name. The result of her saying his name would cause a pain deeper than he could imagine.
She closed her eyes. A name had been given, crimes had been listed
And so, a soul would be found. It hadn't taken long before she found it. She pulled it into her realm, and this Lucifer landed onto the floor. It wasn't soft, but it wasn't hard. The fall wouldn't harm him.
Aki saw him sit up. He had sandy blond hair and wore a crooked smirk. She could sense power radiating off him, but it would be rendered useless after the trial.
"Aw, boys. If you wanted to meet up in a dark room all you had to do is call."
Aki didn't understand, but she gathered from the way they tensed and his mocking tone that he had offended them. She had no patience for such trivial matters. She moved back into the red glow of the portal.
"Lucifer the Morning Star, you have been accused for the sins upon your soul by the attending party. I have deemed them correct, and I now sentence you to one century in the abyss. Do you argue that sentence?"
He shrugged lazily. "Why not make it longer?"
"Then you shall have two centuries. Accusing party, can you confirm that this is the accused soul?"
Two yes's and one yeah were voiced. Aki took that as a majority. "I, Achylus, daughter of Nyx and the mist before death, bind the powers of Lucifer. May the darkness give you rest."
His smirk finally fell. He seemed to have grasped the situation. Chains swept over him, binding him to a chair that collided with the back of his knees.
"Achylus? You gave me to some Greek?"
Crowley smirked. "I gave you to the only person you can't con. Come now, smile. It's only a century. Oh wait, you made it two."
Years of silence had left her unused to all this talk. "Leave now. And don't return. If you do, it will be you here for centuries."
The three left quickly. Aki turned to this devil. She turned and left, returning to the shadows.
"Hey, excuse me. We're gonna be here awhile, right? Might as well get to know each other."
Aki allowed the darkness to engulf her. He must think she disappeared. Not quite. She would watch until he seemed ready to break. Her days of silence were gone. Screams would soon be enchoing in the abyss. She felt the darkness press against her, already excited for the fear it would receive. Fear was the only sustenence in this realm and she was starving.
