Distant past.....

It was a normal day of school.
Hot, dusty, sweaty uniforms and gloomy clouds that seemed to just linger in the lower sky lazily floating about in whichever direction the wind took them. To be honest that weather was perfect, the sun was out but it wasn't the harsh sun that would burn you in 30 seconds. It was the gentle sun that embraced you, just providing warmth and light.

The lesson began.

"Good morning y'all" the teacher said entering the dimly lit class room with the white board, the markers, the decade old mahogany cupboard, the lit oil lamp and incense.
With a practised smile he greeted them. It was a smile that didn't look genuine at all. He seemed friendly and trustworthy but was he ?

The lesson begins and being diligent I answer all his questions before anyone even had the chance.
"smashed em !" I thought to myself internally letting out a sigh of joy.

The class ended and the teacher decided to give us a little "talk". "It is the beggining of a a two and half year journey" He started, again all this seemed oddly perfect, practised. Maybe he recited this to every batch. After all he was a well seasoned schoolmaster. "All of you are 'equal' now" He continued.

"But this exam will determine your life" He stated with a dictator-ish tone. "Determine our life". "Of course we are all equal why the emphasis on that ?" He thought to himself as the teacher rambled on giving every student the "Yes i'm watching you" glance.

"How could one paper just judge a whole life ?"
"Oh who cares anyway exams up to this point had been just a breeze for him. He had done so many courses underway the exam everyone claimed was hard and got the second best result anyone could have. He did the hardest subjects but he accomplished all this with nothing but a smile.

His mom was always with him, she encouraged him, always empovering him to study study study. That was he was supposed to do he thought. He liked music he was pretty good at it but in his mothers eyes everything except studies was a waste of time. "He's gonna be a doctor" she said to her relatives. So he chose to make that dream a reality. He was encouraged.

His fate was fixed. Not on his will, but whatever. "Ill just do this no biggie" he thought.

"So u must all work hard like our front row spectacle boy" the teacher addressed him. He snapped out of his thoughts to realize all eyes were on him. He wasnt the shy type but he didnt like attention all that much. He just smiled..... After all he was always the teachers favourite, he wondered why all the others weren't like him. Studies wasn't definitely hard. Right ?

The class ended and it was officially breaktime until the next teacher arrived. The whole class burt into a chatter like the fishermen in fish markets one would see shouting out to advertise his fish. This was a new school which he got admitted to, apparently it was supposed to be 'better' but so far it wasn't showing any promise. Every minute there was someone who shouted out and tried to waver him saying. "Hey the big fat dork in the front," well he was used to that sort of critisism there were always the mentally inferior who could do nothing else but mock him. When it came to that level of  people it was best to ignore them completely.
"Better not waste time" he thought pulling out a book full of practise questions.
It all seemed simple enough. Well at least till his heart  came infront of his brain .....
