"someone go get candy, i can't watch without it." kevin groaned as we paused Black Panther for the 11th time.
"really kevin? now? t'chala is about to wreck m'baku!" aubree smacked kevin in the back of his head.
kevin simply shrugged, and we all looked at eachother, deciding who would go considering kevin would never stop complaining if we didn't get him candy.
"i'll go, the store is just down the street right?" ethan volunteered, getting up from the couch.
"aubree, why don't you go with him?" i asked, winking when she looked at me.
i'm such a good friend.
"yes absolutely! i mean, yeah that's cool." she calmed herself down and tried to act cooler.
kevin rolled his eyes as did i, being ashamed at how much she was embarrassing herself.
"let me go to the bathroom real quick." she rushed to the bathroom and we all pulled out our phones in the meantime.
after a few minutes, my phone started vibrating and aubree's contact came up.
"how can i help you?" i laughed into the phone.
"code red! code red! bring me a tampon!" she practically screeched into the phone.
"i don't have any!" i sighed, digging my hands into my sweatshirt pocket in hopes i would find one.
"yo kevin, do you have any tampons?" i asked as i put my phone away from my face.
"no, i just ran out last week." he shrugged.
"kevin's out, ethan can get you some at the store." i said, making ethan's head shoot up and his head shake back and forth furiously.
"uhhhh fine i'll go." i sighed as i stood up from the fort i made on the ground.
i hung up and walked over to the front door and pulled on my dirty white vans.
"dude, what do you use tampons for?" ethan laughed at kevin.
"the girls leave them everywhere around the house when they come over." he shrugged.
"that's a lie, you use them for nosebleeds." i mocked.
ethan bent down as he laughed furiously and kevin's eyes widened in embarrassment.
"get the hell out of here you snakes!" he shouted as ethan and i closed the front door behind us.
"let's just walk." i said as ethan made his way to the car.
he caught up to my side and we walked in darkness and silence as no cars were passing by.
ethan turned on the flashlight on his phone and i pulled on my sweatshirt sleeves to prevent my hands from getting cold in the late fall air.
we eventually made it to a gas station and i ordered ethan to get all the candy he could find as i went to pick out some random tampons.
"all that candy? it's only for kevin." i laughed as i watched ethan plop the huge pile of candy bags onto the cashier's counter.
he simply shrugged and pulled out his wallet from his back pocket.
after getting the bags, we made our way back into the freezing air.
"you look freezing." ethan noticed as my teeth started chattering a bit.
"good observation." i rolled my eyes sarcastically.
"here." he started pulling off his hoodie and i stopped him.
"do you have a shirt on underneath?" i asked, concerned of him getting cold.
"wouldn't you like to know?"
he proceeded to take off his entire hood, leaving him in a short sleeve shirt as he handed me the hoodie.
"that's hardly a shirt." i fought back, but accepted the hood and put it on over my own, considering i was so much smaller than him.
as i put it on, i noticed it smelled like cologne and i slightly swooned.
i noticed as we walked down the sidewalk that he kept looking at me from the corner of his eye.
"what? do i have something on my face?" i asked, finally annoyed by his not so casual glances.
"no, you look good in it, that's all." he winked, making my face heat up.
"so...aubree's cute right?!" i laughed awkwardly.
"yeah." he replied simply.
"just yeah? you're supposed to say she's like a 5 course meal or something." i looked at him as if he was crazy.
"i mean, she's gorgeous and all, but i have an eye on someone else." ethan sighed.
"oh...you're dumb." i laughed.
"is the holy trinity going to the beach party next week?" he asked, changing the subject abruptly.
"kev and aubree are going."
"and you?"
"hard pass. parties are a big no go for me." i shrugged, pulling the sleeve of his sweatshirt over my fingers.
"maybe you'll have a different experience now that i'm here."
i looked over at him and saw a smirk on his face and i quickly shot my eyes away.
"have you ever even gone to one?" he asked.
"pfft of course! what teenager doesn't g-go to a party?!" i tried playing it off, but ethan could see right thru me as he started laughing at my stutter.
"you have to go, you have no choice." he crossed his arms over his chest, informing me of my new plans for next friday night.
"no way dude. you can't make me." i stuck my tongue out at him in a childish manner.
he stopped walking so i did the same and he turned to me with that dumbass smirk painted on his face.
"i can make you do whatever i want."
