Vengeance

After many days of our old victory with the Trojan mafia, one of the most impenetrable mafia of all time, we had to seek new territories. So, we came upon the land of the Cicones, which is located in the upper left corner of Italy.  We planned every course to invade the territory for supplies, we took sufficient ammunition for our guns, we rented a ten-story building for us. This building was beside the airport, which had our private plane, and was just inside the 50-mile radius from our objective. Then, we acted at night, we entered by surprise into each of the Cicones houses, and stroke a bloodshed with each bullet we had, we left them lifeless and helpless, and stole everything from them that we could. Rivers of blood and destruction were created by each one of us.  During the attack, I got greedy for love and pleasure and abducted a woman. This ingenuous woman, whose beauty was incalculable, whose eyes shined bright as the gold I stole, whose hands were as soft as cotton, whose hair flowed as long rivers of dark black color, whose sweet voice brought me speechless, and whose actions brought me closer to her. I knew that fate gave me a boon and that for a reason I met such a beauty.

Hundreds died by our mighty hands and guns, hundreds suffered the death toll, hundreds cried the death of others but only one claimed the actual vengeance. All the people he knew and cared for, died in front of his eyes. His blood boiled for revenge, and he said to himself: “Now, when they have taken the most precious thing I care for, I shall take everything they have cared for.”

We had all our loot in the building, and had each floor well guarded with at least twenty people, except the last floor in which we were present, this included: Odysseus, me and much of the rest of the crew and that beauty I stole.  We never knew what awaited for us.

We were celebrating our victory over the Cicones, I spoke: "Let's make a toast, gentlemen, my friends and brothers, we have done the greatest heist in history, and we should be proud of it, and we crushed those Cicones by our brain, Odysseus...", everyone cheered for him, "and our brawn, Eurylochus, who has helped, contributed and given strength to you, my men, let's celebrate this day with...

“Boss, we have a man who has just infiltrated our premises, what do you propose?” , one of the crew men said after observing one of the security cameras. “Finish him off!”, I said shortly. While I spoke, Odysseus showed a face of disgust, and uneasiness. Then that beauty, who was tied to a chair, spoke: " You shall pay for your actions, Eurylochus, he is a beast you have awaken, and he will hunt you down". I laughed and said: " That beast of yours will die, even before he reaches here."

Then one of the crew men, informed me: "Sir, he has killed every single person on the first and second floor".

Alert every floor! “I don't care how many men or guns you need but, I want him dead!", I said. The woman laughed loudly and said: " Scared of this much only? He will slaughter each one of you, and when you will cry, shout and yell for mercy, he shall give you none".

"Shut up! What fear are you talking about? We are larger in number and power, we shall kill him in no time".

Then the crew man said: "The third, fourth and fifth floor aren't responding to the alert, Boss". Sweat was flowing through my face, I couldn't understand what was happening. Did we really awaken an irascible beast?  Odysseus saw my reaction and said: "Maybe,  we should better leave this building as fast as possible". Furiously, I said: " Seriously, we aren't cowards, who run out of battles, we shall fight to the end." The woman laughed again and said: " You might not who he is and what he is known for.  Let me tell you an event he lived, and why he is so fearless; He was eating in a restaurant and 15 men came up to him and asked him to move out of that assigned seat because it was considered theirs. They harassed, molested and even used force to move him out, but he didn't move an inch. His breaking point came up when they harassed his family, especially his mother. They had awaken his inner indignant beast and he showed no mercy for them. He killed every last one of them with a freaking spoon. When the first tried to hit him, he took the spoon, turned it towards the tip of the handle and thrust to the side of his neck, blood came gushing out and he fell to his demise. The others angered by this came to attack, he avoided the first attack and thrust the tip of the handle inside the attacker's armpit perforating his right lung..."

"Shut up, just shut up!, I yelled at her, but still she continued:
"After killing them, he cleaned the spoon with a handkerchief and ate silently over their corpses. Imagine they had just harassed his mother, you have killed her, imagine what he will do to you, he will torture you to death! His name is John Cicones, and I am his wife, Natalie Cicones."

"Sir, he has just reached the ninth floor", said one of the crewmen. I banged the side of my chair furiously. I observed keenly the insidious woman I had in front of me, whose beauty wasn't incalculable, whose eyes showed me deep darkness and fearlessness, whose hands wished to be around my neck and strangle me to death, whose hair rose up as spikes hard enough to cut through steel, whose threatening voice echoed through the room and had me stunned, whose actions lead me closer to death. It seemed that fate gave me a curse and for a reason it did.

Odysseus exclaimed furiously: “Let us hurry and abort this mission, we need to evacuate now! This is an order, we have lost many men, and I don’t want to lose more.” I spoke: “Okay, then, if this helps my friends and companions to survive, I shall do it.” Then I saw, for the last time, this beastly woman, which destroyed me and killed my friends. We rose from our seats and ran towards the stairs which led us to the roof deck of this building. Before reaching the stairs, a beastly figure came upon my men and attacked them. He slashed and tore their throats, and took their hearts from their chests and lead them to the abyss.  Eight men had been slayed by this feral beast in just a couple of minutes. He ran after us, and we ran to the ceiling. Yet, he grabbed some of my men and slaughtered them with anything he could find, his madness had no limits. I sent three more men towards him, to keep him busy, to guard and protect us. Rapidly, I took a grapple gun, pointed it over the roof of the airport, and shot it. A kevlar wire formed between the roof of the our building and the roof of the airport, I commanded each of my comrades to descend the wire, immediately. Odysseus and I were the first ones to go, then the comrades pulled out their belts and descended behind me. Only three comrades were left to come towards us. The beast had already killed the three men and was heading towards others. I yelled at my comrades, but it was too late he had them by his hands, he killed them with such passion and fury. I screamed and yelled for him to stop but he didn’t. And after finishing them off, he cut the wire.

I fell on my knees, tears poured from my eyes, as rivers flowing through land. I couldn’t understand the possibility of him becoming so wild and angry, that even my biggest strength couldn’t defeat him. It was an acute blow to my heart. I felt wistful and desolate. My friends died by the hands of this mad animal. A hand touched my right elbow, it was Odysseus. He said: “Better we should hurry, he might attack us.”  We ran, with all our might, in the direction of our private plane, it was an Airbus A380. The plane was a double-deck, wide body jet airliner. It was huge, and it took a few minutes for all of us to fit in.
