We went into the room he told us to go. We all were uneasy by the situation we were pulled in: A maniac who eats humans for a living, and we were his breakfast, lunch and dinner. The new room had beds to sleep over. These beds were metallic and strong. Odysseus seemed to be resilient and keep an equanimity through all this, but I could see he was nervous and fearing for his life. We sat on the beds, thinking of what could be done of such a dangerous enemy. Odysseus had come up with something, it could be seen with the smirk on his face. I approached to hear his perfect escape plan. He told me that: “ My powerful Eurylochus, I think this is the best way to teach a lesson to this maniac. Our beds are made of steel, we shall take the longest steel rod and heat it with the lighter you have. We shall give it a sharp shape. And wait until night, when he comes. During his sleep, we shall snap the metal rod into his eye and take his control. We open the doors and flee away. As I have said, "The devil finds it easy to do his work when the world is dark, and we are the light that will blind this devil and bring peace." I was surprised by his ingenious plan. I, then, headed for the bathroom. The bathroom sink had a large mirror over it. I washed my face and hands, then I kept watching the mirror or the mirror image kept watching me. I thought about why I cannot think of such marvelous plans, why I cannot become so renowned as him and be given kudos, and why has god given me brawn and not brains, why I am so sophomoric. These questions wandered inside my mind, making me more and more angry. And then I took my fist and smashed several times the mirror, and tore it into pieces. Glass pieces flew from the mirror and fell on the floor. Blood flowed from my hands and stained the ground. I knew something had to be done, Odysseus needed to be killed. All of the crewmen were asleep, nobody would notice the murder. I took one big piece of glass and headed in the direction of Odysseus… I rose my arm over Odysseus to attack him.

Yet, he turned and a bright blinding light filled my eyes and I fell back. The sharp piece of glass slipped from my hands and slid through the floor until it reached below another bed. Odysseus asked me: “What happened? Why are you sweating so much? And you have a bloody hand, how did that happen?” I was speechless. I told him that I slipped and my hand hit the mirror, thus breaking it, and injuring my hand. He looked concerned, but I knew he was content of my selfish act. My fury over him was more than the jealousy I felt.

Well, we waited until the devil came. He came as elegant as ever, and said: “Who wants be my prey? I will offer him peace for his afterlife.” Odysseus stood and spoke: “Oh! Beloved and divine creation, who has the power to slay and let live men. I propose myself the two men that will be participating in this killing.” And he spoke: “I am glad you do. What’s your name, precious? I will grant you a gift.” And the mighty Odysseus spoke: “My name is Novan Atall, my friends and family called me the same, ever since I was born I was raised with such a name”. He was a little surprised, “ Well.. I‘ve never heard of that name, but I shall promise that I will grant you the gift, that you will be the last one to die.” Odysseus then, carefully picked two of his weakest comrades, and send them off to the feral monster. The man said that their beautiful punishment will be the electrocution chair, but with a twist it shall be programmed to music. The song shall be Vivaldi: Summer. The men were strapped onto the chairs and he moved the handle. A sound came past the walls, beautiful, delicate and soothing to the heart and mind. It rose my spirits of hope and strength to fight against everything.  Then, came up the high, fast pitches of the song, increasing by minute. Afterwards, came a tremendous speed and power in the song, which blew the men away. They shook furiously, smoke coming out of their faces, and blood dripping from their mask. He laughed and roared, and he seemed no different from a insane animal. He untied the corpses and torn them apart piece by piece. And as always, he ate them as relieving himself from their pain. After being eased by the food, he came to my men and said: “You are going to be the next, here, take some food. Fill yourselves with serenity and end your hunger.”

He went out and locked the room. We had a copy of the key, that we had made yesterday. It was made with dough hardened by cold. The dough was from the food he had given us yesterday. We came out and headed out of the room and wandered through the building, finding the owner’s room. When we found it, we lay out our plan. During his sleep, we plucked with brute force into his left eye, the eye that knew evil and nothing more. Blood spilled out of his eye, so great was the pain that he screamed for help. Footsteps were heard, and many men, in uniforms and guns, surrounded the room. They asked him what was the problem and the man responded: “Novan Atall is killing me!” They heard him and said: “Well, if you say so, that no one at all is killing you then we shall not molest you.” We sneaked up, took the control, which had the power to open the 15 foot tall doors, and we headed towards the door. Successfully, we opened the door and rejoiced of our freedom. We ran towards the dock, took an abandoned boat and sailed for the unknown. Odysseus rose to the high deck of the boat and raised his voice and said: “Wanay Bing, I, have escaped from your clutches, I have saved my men from evil and you shall remember for my name is not Novan Atall but the great Odysseus.” He heard this and his anger had no limits. He commanded his army to rain missiles over the perpetrators, who have injured him. Missiles flew through the wind and descended upon the water, creating huge explosions. These explosions had moved our boat back to the island. My rage was immense against Odysseus, whose egocentric and solipsistic philosophy had increased so much that he meant danger for us. I tried calm him but he was like the ocean, unstable and agitated. I said: “Boss, stop this, you’re putting our men at risk”. And he spoke again: “Beasts should learn the consequences of their foolish actions, every devil should pay for his bad deeds and you are no saint.” The blinded man ordered to his men to wipe out them from existence. They did as ordered, more missiles flew, and exploded on impact. I told Odysseus to end this madness, and he finally did. Finally, we sailed for the unknown, saving ourselves from those deadly attacks. What we had lived was no myth or legend, this is the whole truth. We met up with more difficulties upon our way, uncertainty grew up in us, yet our strength and hope always lived and lead our way to home.
