On the way home from the dance, William pulled his car over to a wooded area on the side of the gravel road.
"Is something wrong with the car?" Eilise asked.
"No," said William, "The car's fine. It's just that... it's only ten-fifteen and your dad said not to rush, right? I figured we could... You know... Talk or something."
"I was hoping we were going to do more than just talk," said Eilise with a smile.
William leaned over and kissed Eilise passionately and looked at her.
"Why did you stop?" She asked before bringing his lips back to hers with her hand.
As they kissed William held her body close to his. He kept moving more and more into her seat until she was almost laid out with him on top of her. He slid his left hand up her side and grabbed her breast.
Eilise quickly grabbed him by the wrist.
"No, wait," she said.
"Oh!" William leaned back. "I'm sorry, that was out of line."
"No..." said Eilise. "It's not that. It's... Never mind. It's stupid."
William looked down at his hand and made a squeezing motion. Suddenly a light bulb went off in his mind.
"Wait a second," said William in an investigative tone. "Was that tissue paper?"
Eilise turned bright red.
"No..." She said turning away towards the dashboard. "Maybe..."
"Okay," said William, "I thought I was going crazy for never noticing you had breasts before."
Eilise smacked him in the arm.
"I have breasts!"
"Of course you do, I'm sorry."
Eilise was arching her neck as far as she could to look away from him. William leaned down and gently kissed her on the neck below the ear. He kissed her on her cheek and she relaxed. He lifted her chin up with two of his fingers.
"Hey," he said, "You're beautiful."
They kissed until she melted underneath him again. He leaned back.
"I'm going to take the tissues out, okay?"
Eilise nodded.
As he took out the waded up tissue, the straps of her dress slipped from her shoulders. Balls of tissue rolled down her body and on to the floor of the car to reveal Eilise's breast that she thought looked more like those of a boy than a woman.

Eilise and William both sat in the car with a feeling of deep shame.
"I'm sorry, Eilise," said William.
"You don't have keep saying that," said Eilise. "I understand."
"Well, I don't," said William.
Eilise wanted to tell him it was magic and it wasn't his fault. She wanted to tell him that he shouldn't feel ashamed and that it wasn't him. But crazy talk was only going to make things worse. It always did.
Instead, she flipped the mirrored visor. Her makeup was everywhere. She bent down and picked up some of the tissues off of the floor. She wiped away where the makeup had run and smeared.
She looked over at William. Where she had scratched his face, the blood was now dried and peeling off of the sweaty skin. She took one of the clean napkins and spit on it.
"Are you okay, Eilise?"
"Shhh..." She whispered, turning his head to the side. She used the wet tissue to wipe away the last of the blood off his face.
She turned his face back to her and she kissed him. He was ridged and treating her like she was made out of glass.
"William..." She looked him deep into his eyes. "It okay. I forgive you."
William let out a deep breath and he was finally relaxed enough to start acting like a normal person again.
"Come on," she said putting a hand on William's knee. "Zip up your pants, let's go home."
William had not kissed her goodnight and when Eilise stepped through the door, Lahrlin was sitting with arms and legs crossed on the couch.
"Did you have fun, Eilise?" Lahrlin asked in a tone that suggested that "yes" was the wrong answer.
"It's barely past eleven," said Eilise. Her insides wanted to tear themselves apart with every step she took.
Lahrlin stood up.
"Look at you!" Lahrlin said somehow yelling and whispering at the same time. "You're a mess! And I see you lost your tissues..." She reached over and grabbed the dress by the hem of the skirt holding it up for Eilise to see. "Is this blood?"
"Lahrlin, please," said Eilise pushing her dress back down to cover herself, "not now..."
"Don't you 'Lahrlin' me right now! You will address me as Mother. Now tell me what happened!"
The pain inside of Eilise turned into rage. She clenched her fist and the lights of the house flickered hard enough to where even Lahrlin was taken aback. Tears came from Eilise's eyes taking away with them the little makeup she had left.
"What happened to me was you, Mother. You and all your stupid witchcraft. Now shut the hell up. I'm going to bed."
Eilise all but knocked Lahrlin down on her way past.
Eilise wiped tears from her face as she made her way to her room.
