Recap: 

My house was painted plainly white and had  a nice green lawn with lots of flowers but mostly lavenders, asphodels, all kinds of lilies, roses, and some bluebells. They looked so pretty in the sunlight. I sighed out of exhaustment and pulled out my key before I unlocked the door and nothing could have prepared me for what waited inside.

Chapter 3: Surprise, Surprise !

 There along the clearly visible hallway stood Brian, leaning against the wall, casually. My eyes immediately widened and a shuddering breath escaped my pink lips. As that breathescaped my mouth, it turned into one of horror, I could feel a scream building in my throat but it just stuck there. 

A million thoughts surged through my mind as he stood there looking at me. How did he find me? How did he know I was living here? Did he follow me? God, I had tied up all loose ends back in Colorado to leave discreetly, unnoticed. ' Not loose enough,' I thought.

Brian looked my way, uncaringly, as if he already anticipated my shock and horror, his brown eyes boring through my green ones. He leaned off the wall and strided over to where I stood, touching my face intimately as if it meant something. I felt some bile rise on my throat.

"Did you think you could get rid of me so easily, love?" He whispered into my ear.

I honest to God couldn't speak. It was like my voice box had been frozen into the freakin' Ice Age. In his presence, I felt pathetic and useless, like always, which was pretty easy since he towered over me.

He leaned back and smirked as if he could read my thoughts. Which, unluckingly, for me happened when I slipped my cool facade. He touched my face, almost tenderly, but couldn't with those too-rough tanned hands. I stepped back onto the door, leaning against it. 

"You did. Didn't you?" He shook his head, as if I had just done sometihng adorable, he then laughed carelessly, his dull brown-black curls sweeping across his face.

"Now, why would you do that. Hmm..." He thought over. I took that chance to sneakily put my hand inside of my bag soundlessly to hurt him with since I was probably weakened, from lack of food, and couldn't use my strength against him. Thank the Fates! I had some mace with me! I grabbed it and would spray it in....

Just as I counted to three, Brian's cellphone decided to ring against his jeans. He removed his eyes from mine and reached for his cell,  which I recognized to be a black Blackberry. It apparently wasn't a call since he used his thumb to scroll through a message. He stood for several seconds, then sighed deeply as if dissapointed. 

He looked at me and said cryptically, " Sorry, love, I have something to attend, to but we can play another time. Won't we? I'll see you around, Selene." 

I  moved out of his way immediately, afraid he would try something. He  just strode out, as if without a care in the world.  I just stood there, in shock, that had been one heck of a welcoming suprise. I felt tears prick my eyes,still going through shock, and started sobbing uncontrollaby. ' Brian is back,'  I thought. And I cried even harder, hysterically.
