Drip, drop, drip, drop, drip, drop...That din seemed to stretch on forever, until it was the only thing I could hear, or ever remember hearing. I opened my eyes, hissed at the harsh light pouring onto me, and slammed them shut again. A warm presence settled closer to me, blocking the onslaught of forged sunlight. Cautiously, I reopend my eyes to see my companion. Her eyes were wide and red, her mouth a mush of nawed skin revealing bloodstained teeth. Hurt...she was hurt. The thought quickly shook of any remaining sleep still draped over me and I crouched, pulling her into the cucoon my body made.

Yes, they will preform nicely. The chatter of the aliens startled a growl from my chest. They stood over us, separated only by wire bars criss-crossing against each other. A stranger stood behind them, his face sporting several claw marks, his arms decorated with cresent shapes colored in red. No doubt the owrk of my bloodied companion. The aliens crept up to us, sharp sticks in their hands once again. Leathal, A voice whispered in the back of my head, one I was sure I hadn't ever heard before. Too much...can be leathal. Snarling, I pushed my companion behind me, ready to defend us both. The aliens just smirked, as if amused by my little show of aggression. Suddenly I felt a heavy weight slump onto my shoulders. The girl! The men had gone behind us and injected her in the back of the neck. My body slammed against the wires before I could comprehend what was happening. A terrible mistake. My postion allowed the sickly clear substance to enter my body, and soon I joined my companion in the chilling pitch.

A kick to the stomach. One to the head. Again o the stomach. Groggily, my vision opened to see the same strange man from before crouched over me, his lips peeled back to reveal black teeth. Time to fight, pig. His voice took a moment to register in my head. Beside me I could see my companion had been awoken in a manner similar to my own. She rubbed at a redding spot on her head, glaring at the many and baring her bloodied teeth. Time to fight, pig.

I looked around us, surveying this uncharted territory. Aliens, closely resembling those of the aliens I was familiar with, surrounded us on all sides, gradually inclining to form a bowl. And we're the main dish. That same warm, foreign voice from before whispered in my ear. A screech, and the strange man disappeared behind a gate. My companion and I gravitated toward each other, cautious of these outside spectators. They cheered and screaming, making noise enough to cause a ring in our ears. They completely surrounded us. We were once again trapped.

A creak sounded to our north. Another gate opened. Emerging from the shadows was a tall man, his body surging and falling in all the same places as my own. Except the surges were greater, the falls steeper. Deadlier. Stronger. HIs skin was dark, darker than the dirt we stood on, and pitted with holes and gashes. Eyes wide and soulless, focused on one thing ad one thing only: the kill.

He charged speeding toward us, his breath huffing out his nostrils and making them flare. Instinct surged through me, and I met him head on, stopping him from making contact with my companion. Rolling, stumbling, we both fell to the ground, but neither took a moment to rest. Kill, kill...He wants to kill...The voice echoed once again in my head. A darker, colder snarl joined the warm voice. We...kill...first. This man would not kill us, would not kill me. Not today, not ever.

My fist connected with his neck, creating a sickening smack and causing the man to gag and retch. I didn't stop there. I kept going, relentless, flesh meeting flesh wherever it could. His foot kicked out suddenly, catching me off guard and forcing my to stumble away from him. Too soon he towered over me, beating me, thrashing against me, screaming nonsense at me. Another figure forced him sideways, away from me. My companion had him pinned to the floor, but she was struggling. It was obvious he was much too strong for her. Previous pain forgotten, I crouched, then lunged at the pair, accidently knocking them both over. A gimp in my gait had cause me to waver, but that was only a passing thought. All that matter was ending this before my companion or I got hurt.

My hands wrapped themselves around his neck, squeezing, choking off his supply of precious air, cutting off his flow of life. My companion stood over us, the same blank stare in her eyes as the man we fought, the same blank stare I knew I too sported. This man was like us, our kin, our familiar. Our brother.

She slammed her foot down and snapped his neck.
