*Chapter 3*

Skye ran with Noel, until they reached the front of Historia. The doors were surprisingly unlocked. Noel and Skye went in, and saw the Crux. they opened it, and set the date to Oerba 300 AF. they jumped in, to another time.

As they were falling through the portal, a familiar voice spoke to both of them. "Skye. This is a serious issue." Jack started to tell her. "The bringer of the End is near. Caius. You need to change some events in the timeline, to weaken him. So his life will end. Hopefully if that doesn't work, he is one who, because of change in the timeline, will die from shock. The timeline will be confusing and misplaced, ending him. Or he will have his end. At the end of my blade. I trust you won't fail. Love ya, Instagram hoe." with those words, Jack's voice faded. "Love you too, gay kid." Skye whispered to herself, tearing up. With those words, a white light appeared, and the two exited the portal.

They were greeted with the bright sun, and crystal dust all over the ground. Skye looked up, to still see Anima. "This place is beautiful." she told Noel. Noel looked at her, and smiled. "This is Oerba. The city of dust, and Cie'th from the olden days." Noel told her. Skye looked at the ground, and saw the sunlight being reflected by the crystal dust surrounding her.

Noel and Skye kept walking through for a while. In the distance, a village could be spotted. As the approached it, they saw that it was covered in ruin. The crystal all on the roofs, caved in buildings, and so much vacancy. The place was a graveyard of memories.

"We are likely to run into Caius here, but don't attack him.". Noel tole Skye. "Why not?" Skye whined. "Because. It would be wrong to kill a child." Noel informed her. "So this is where Caius was a child? Was he a normal child?" Skye asked him. "Yes, until this happened." Noel looked away. Skye looked at him, "What happened?" she asked him. "He was on a fishing trip. He got lost on the water, and he hasn't returned. He left a day before this day. He is set to return any minute." and not coincidentally, a boat pulled into shore. Out got a little boy with shoulder length, purple hair. He had a fishing pole over his shoulder, and was wearing no shirt. Skye looked at Noel, "why is he shirtless?" she whispered to him. Noel simply replied with, "he used his clothes as bandages, they got attacked.". Skye looked at the poor boy, who had mud on his face, and dirt in his hair. The look on his face was stern, the horrified. He saw his entire town, engulfed in crystal. "What the hell? What the HELL?" Caius started to freak out. He ran to his home, the one that caved in. he ran back out, and into the cave, ner where Noel, and Skye where standing. They ran after him, and saw that he was standing and looking over a pit. It looked to be rather deep. "NO!-" Skye started to shout, but Noel covered her mouth before she could catch Caius' attention. Caius sat down, with his legs crossed. A shadow formed like a hand grabbed him, and patted him on the head. Skye looked worried, as Noel charged in. Caius and the Shadow turned to him, as the Shadow grabbed Noel, and Caius. It lifted them from the cave, onto the plain above it. Skye fan up there, with Mog. the looked at Mog, and told him to go for a bow. The Moogle followed the instruction. Skye grasped the bow, and shot three arrows at the Shadow, the charged. She knocked Noel out of the Shadows hands , and they both attacked it. It let out a loud, deafening screech, and absorbed itself with Caius. Caius' eyes went a shade deeper, as the darkness entered him. Mog waved his wand, and the Historia Crux opened. The Pair jumped in. with caius wanting in to. Mog took his wand and hit Caius in the head, causing him to cry. And with that the portal closed.

"You saw how he first got the powers he had." Jack's voice boomed once more. "Right now, it would still be hard to finish him off. Travel to The Archylte Steppe, 400 AF. you will find a young man, with silver hair. This is Caius' brother, Hope. talk to him, and he will tell you where his brother is training. Go to that location, and interrupt him. I will give you further instruction later. Love ya hoe." and with those words, Jack could no longer be heard. The portal opened with a flash of white light, and a vast area of green, the gang exitted. Skye felt the grass, and looked at the flowers, while breathing in a good breath. It smelled very relaxing. Luckily they saw buildings nearby, so they ran towards them.

They stopped at one, who had a handsome looking man, who wore a vest over his bare chest, and had a tie around his neck. He wore shorts, and weird shoes. He had really shiny, silver hair to his shoulders. On the vest was a tag, with the name Hope.
