My mum started driving.

"Sweetheart, are you really ok?" My mum broke the silence.

"Yeah mum, I'm fine, at least physically." I looked down. "It seems unreal that I killed someone, I mean I never thought I would ever hold a gun, much less shoot it at someone, It's insane."

"Chloe, you did it to save your own life, it had to be done." She said caressing my leg.

She parked the car in front of our house.

"If you want I can call your therapist and make an appointment. Anyone would be traumatized over a situation like this and talk about it might help you." She said while we were making our way towards our house.

"Yeah mum, I'll think about it."

We entered the house. My sister wasn't at home. She basically lives with her boyfriend now. She sleeps in his house almost every night.

My mum lead me to the kitchen.

I was really hungry so I decided to make some cereals with milk. I was too sleepy and tired to make my usual breakfast, which was way more elaborate.

"Sweetie, sit at the table, I'll make the breakfast for you."

"Thanks mum, but I'll do it by myself, I already gave you enough work."

"No, you passed through a lot last night, I won't mind spoil you a little bit." She said with a sweet smile on her face.

"You're seriously the best mum in the world, you know that right?" She moved towards me and kissed my forehead. "So aren't you mad at me for lying to you?" I questioned.

"Not mad, I can't be mad at you after what happened. I'm only disappointed, I thought you trusted me Chloe." She replied.

"I do, mum. I just didn't want to worry you. If I had told you I was going to sleep in a stranger's house and the reason why I'd have to do it, you would freak out mum." I sighed. "Look, I just didn't want to give you more problems than you already have." I confessed.

"Chloe, I understand your reasons  but you really should have told me the truth... Just promise me you won't lie to me again." She said while cooking me some pancakes.

"I promise mum."

She smiled. "Now, tell me everything. Why did you had to stay with Dave?"

I told her everything while eating my pancakes. She was shocked when she knew James Franco was Dave's brother and even more when I told her the details about the men breaking into his house. Apparently the cops very briefly told her what happened. She didn't know anything besides that some people had broke into Dave's house and tried to kill us which made us killed them in self defense.

"Chloe, you are so brave. I'm truly proud of you." She caressed my head.

"Dave saved me. I owed it to him. I couldn't let him be beaten to death."

My mum smiled.

"This Dave, he seems to really like you." She said, sounding suspicious. I looked at her and raised my eyebrow. "You like him too, right?" She smirked.

"Muuuum, come on"

"Muuuum, come on"
