It was back to work the following week.
Ella pushed aside her thoughts about their talk for the back-to-back meetings she had for construction, bidding and regular operations.
James was the same, except that he made time to make his presence felt.

"Hello!"
Ella called as soon as she saw the Twitter exchange between James and Jean. "Ano na naman pinagsasabi mo kay Jean?"
"Huy! Grabe mambintang. Wala. Nagtweet lang ako na namimiss ko yung Mahal ko tapos nag react siya."
"But you alluded to me when you said 'siya lang naman dati pa'."
"Ang assuming mo naman," he replied.
"May iba ba?! James del Rosario, meron ba?"
"Wala! Alam mo namang patay na patay ako sayo eh." Ella didn't say anything, so he continued. "Umm, Ella? Pwede ka bang ma-invite mag-coffee?"
When he told her where, she giggled, "Uy level up na talaga. Hindi nalang tayo dun sa 3-in-1 na experiment mo."

It was a random day at school and they had a long break in between subjects. Since schoolwork hadn't piled up yet, everyone was relaxed, they decided to go to the nearby designer coffee shop.
James and Ella looked at each other. They already knew they couldn't afford it. "Pass nalang kami. Magaaral pa kami ni James eh."
He knew that she wanted to go. "Sige na. Sama na tayo. I have two hundred pesos pa."
"No, allowance mo yan for this week. Okay lang ako."
When they got home that afternoon, they passed by the sari-sari store and ordered a 3-in-1 then James borrowed a blender from his grandmother and attempted to make a frappuccino for Ella.
It failed. But they had a good laugh.
Because of that, they found out they had some good friends.
The next time their group invited them for coffee, Jean stepped in. "Sama na kayo, please? Ang tagal na nating hindi nagsasama sama eh."
"Jean, alam mo naman kasi..."
"I know. Ako na bahala," Jean told Ella.
"No, we can't," James said.
