Chapter 1

Reina's P.O.V

"Happy Birthday!"

I opened my eyes and went blind for a minute. When I regained my eyesight I propped myself up on my arms.

"Thank you," I croaked. My voice in the morning is horrible.

"Today is the day you find your mate! Aren't you excited sweetheart?!" My mom clapped her hands together.

"Jumping for joy," I said sarcastically.

"Well hurry sweetie! You're gonna be late for school!" My moms phone rang and she answered it. "Reina's 16 today!" She walked away chattering exitedly with- what I supposed was- the luna of our pack, aka, her best friend.

My parents are omegas, so I am too. Obviously. Today I had to find my mate.

I got up and got ready for school, thoughts whizzing about my mind.

Who will it be?

What is he like?

Will he accept me?

Could it be a beta? Or even yet, an alpha??

I laughed at that last question.

Omegas rarely ever have betas or alphas as their mates. It's just the way it works. Though, it would be a blessing to have an alpha as a mate.

I snorted. I'll have an alpha as my mate when pigs fly!

I looked at myself in the mirror, examining my outfit. I wore a white tank top, army green cargos, tan timberlands, and my green knapsack with tan straps. My makeup was pretty natural. Nude lips, black mascara, and tan/light brown eyeshadow.

I walked downstairs while I checked my newsfeed.

"Happy birthday!" The whole pack stood in my living room. A chocolate lava cake sat on the center coffee table with 16 candles lit on top of it.

"Aww, thanks!" I blew out my candles and made a wish..

"What'd you wish for?" My 17 year old brothers, Jason and Jace, asked at the same time.

You guessed it! They're twins.

"I can't tell you!" I slapped them upside their heads. "Shit! We're gonna be late!"

"Good thing I got you this." My dad handed me some keys.

"Really," I squealed. I hugged my parents and said a quick goodbye.

I went into the garage, where I saw my baby.

"Omygad it's a convertible!" I got in, revved up the engine, put the top down, and drove away.

"Best day ever!" I let the wind tousle my perfectly straight brown hair. I stopped at a red light and winked at myself in the rear view mirror. I sang along to my favorite song, Tipsy by J-Kwon.

I parked in the SFHS parking lot. I sat on the hood of my brand new silver 2012 Aston Marten Virage and checked my newsfeed while waiting for my best friend, Lilianna.

"Hey Reina! Nice ride. Damn youre lucky." Lilianna rubbed the hood of my baby and admired it.

"Oh thank you for saying happy birthday! And yes, I'm lucky." I stood up and admired my car.

"Sorry," she blushed, "so have you found your mate yet?" She tried winking at me.

"Stop it you look like you have problems," I mimicked her, " and no, I haven't found my mate yet." I looked at the bustling students in the parking lot.

RRrRrrIIIiiIIiNNnNnnGGg

"Shit, we're late." I grabbed my bag and ran through the now empty parking lot.

"Well then leave me behind!" Lils ran after me, cursing under her breath while she struggled with her bag.

We finally got in the school.

"Omygad I think imma die," Lils panted. "Well heres my class, so baii hun!" She blew me a kiss and went into class.

"Well then leave me to roam the empty halls alone," I mumbled to myself.

Ugh. I can never find this class.. Someone always has to take me to it. Dont judge me.

Suddenly I smelled the most delicious smell in the world.

"Mate!" My wolf screamed. "FollowFollowFollow!"

I followed the scent up a flight of stairs and around a corner when someone bumped into me.

"Watch where you're going jacka--" I stopped when I smelled the greek god standing before me.

"Maaatttteeeeee!!" My wolf cried in delight.

I stared for a few seconds, totally checking him out. My heart stopped when I saw the face that owned the model body.

"You cant be my mate. You're.. You're an omega," said Nathan Bradshaw, aka the most popular guy in school/the alpha of the Blue Moon Pack.

"Nathan Bradshaw is my mate?" I couldn't believe it. He's an alpha!

"No, I'm not your mate." He began to walk the other way and left me standing in the same spot, with a broken heart and teary eyes. "Don't tell anyone I'm your mate. I'll deny it." Those last words shattered my heart to bits and pieces.

My poor omega heart.
