the rivalry

chapter 1- the beginning

 Once upon a time in the soft, green, flowery land of talking cats, there was an argument that was arising amongst the cats and kittens. The stealthy gerbils were stealing the cats' invisibility cloaks. The cats were having a argument because they could not figure out why they were gone. So on January first they decided to hold a meeting in the sugar rush store where the food and supplies was stored for all the 2,000 cats. The leader of the cat's name, was Ooglebuff. She was thirty years old ( that is 137 human years!). So, on January first they all gathered in the middle of the room that had candy hanging everywhere. Then Ooglebuff pressed a button and the ground started to sink. Everyone got on to the purple and green platform. when they got to the bottom, she told them the plan.

She was going to pick three of the youngest kittens that looked similar to gerbils and send them to their camp to spy. Ooglebuff then said that all parents who have kittens young enough to talk , to send them through the up you go system to her tomorrow morning. Everyone  is dismissed. 

So, all of the mothers took their kittens back home.The next morning they sent all the kittens who were youngest but could talk, to the leaders. There were twenty to pick from and only three would go. Also they had to be strong, quick and agile to be picked. All of the twenty kittens were tested in different activities to figure out which three were the best to pick. The three she picked were Todd, Dear and Herbert. Todd was a boy with brown eyes and brown, and white fur. Dear looked like him, but she had white fur and black paws and purple eyes. Herbert was like a cross between the two and he had blue eyes.

So off they went to stay with the gerbils to see what they were up to. when they got there, they were taken in immediately. The next morning Herbert, Dear, and Todd were just walking around and found a secret passage. They went in and found a door. When they opened it they could not believe their eyes. It was empty. Curious of why there would be a empty room they decided to walk around. As the three of them walked around they ran into something. It was as if something was invisible. They then realized that it was a shape. So, they pulled and found a couch. Next, the three of them realized there were three buttons on the side of the couch. A blue, brown, and purple button. The three took turns pressing the button that matched the color of their eyes. When Herbert pressed the blue button, three kittens just like him appeared. When dear pressed the purple button eight pink and eight black kittens appeared and started dancing. Todd pressed the brown button and a kitchen appeared. Then Todd who was the bravest asked the three kittens why they are in the gerbil campground. All three kittens replied, they think we are gerbils. The dancing group thought they were gerbils and the gerbils thought they were gerbils , so Herbert , Dear , and Todd told them they were kittens. 

Then the 3 spies took the rest of the kittens with them back to their leader ooglebuff. Their leader took the new kittens, and put them into families that were not very big. While all of this was going on , the leader goggle nest of gerbils was heading towards the secret passage that led to the area with the invisible couch. When he opened the door he was surprised to see that all of his things were gone. He then smelled that their had been other kittens in the room. So he went to his secret camera room to find out which kittens were missing. 

Meanwhile ooglebuff was making sure the new kittens didn't have a microchip that had a tracking device on it. While she was checking , she got a inter call on the screen. It was goggle nest wanting his gerbils and invisibility cloaks back. Ooglebuff said no, we will not give you back the invisibility cloaks because they are not yours. And the kittens you think are gerbils we will be keeping. They are not gerbils, they are kittens. Goggle nest , the leader of gerbils said , well then good bye ooglebuff. 

When they hung up from the inter call , goggle nest told the other gerbils to get their equipment ready to get back what belonged to them. What they did not know is that the kittens were stronger than the adult gerbils. The cats and kittens had all been assigned a schedule to help them be stronger. The gerbils finally arrived. As they arrived in the room where all of their stuff was, they saw it was all in plain view. In one third of the room, were all of the invisibility cloaks. In the other part of the room, the kittens were there. Goggle nest told the kittens to come back with them. All of the kittens refused to go back with the gerbils. The leader ooglebuff was so furious with goggle nest that she kicked him out and put a spell on the purple underground Palace, that all the kittens lived in. The spell was a spell that only let cats and kittens into. For now that would keep the kittens and cats safe from the gerbils attacking. 

Goggle nest was so shaken up by being thrown out and not being able to get back in, that he and the other gerbils went back to their underground palace to make up a better plan. While the gerbils were trying to get another plan figured out,  the cats and kittens were learning new things. A year later the gerbils were a lot smaller in numbers. When it came to the war of if the kittens had to go back with the gerbils, the gerbils saw as soon as they arrived that they were outnumbered by about one hundred. The cats and now teenage cats that used to be kittens took all the gerbils and locked them up in the cells that were hanging by a chain over a big hole with water.

After they had all of the 90 gerbils they decided that instead of killing them, they would be given a room to stay in with 2 other room mates, and be put to work with a job. The younger ones would be put into classes depending on how well they did on the standard test. If they were really smart and only ten they would be put in with the eighth grade. If they needed to learn more and they were twelve, they would be put into the fourth grade. Their grade level was not based on their age, it was based on how well they did on tests. 

Eventually most of the gerbils and kittens were done with school and ready to move out and go get a job and go to college.  The ones that decided to go to college would be given ten thousand dollars to help them go to college. As for the leader of the gerbils, he was punished by having to wash the floors and everything in the underground palace. Once in a while he would be allowed to go see family for up to a month.
