Oh uhhhhhh follow my tumblr ego-ann-16. Also there's some implied cassamber so 😜

Blake and Max were walking side-by-side down the street, Cass observed. "They're, uh, walking next to each other. Write that down, write that down! " Cass was watching through a pair of binoculars at the two from a nearby bush, Amber was hunched beside her, scribbling down notes furiously.

They had decided to work together under the shared idea that something was up between the two. Cass had originally came to her wanting to see if they were traitors to their friends, and even though she didn't say it, it was obvious that Amber just wanted drama.

Max and Blake turned a corner, and the two got up from their hiding spot and started walking behind them, not exactly far away, but far enough to observe the two without getting caught.

Blake turned his head and said something to Max. Max laughed, and Blake looked at him.
And oh my god.
He was blushing.
Hard.
Cass and Amber both squealed and panicked. They started writing down every detail of what they were doing.

"Let's see, what was going on? Max  Is laughing about something Blake said, Blake  Is flushing completely red over what they were laughing about and stuttering, and they are walking down the street together. Everything about that statement points towards a deeper relationship. " said Cass, clearly disgusted. She turned towards Amber, who to her surprise, was actually looking at her and not looking away.

"Well they might be already dating, or maybe they both have crushes on each other, or maybe its a one-sided thing or um... " Cass slowly trailed off as Amber stared at her, a little blush growing. "U-uh, Amber...? " "OH! yeah nothing its uh, n-nothing. " Cass slowly turned back to Max and Benjamin.

Benjamin and Max turned a corner and walked by a coffee store. "Hey, that's where I work! " said Amber, almost excitedly. "Oh? You do? " asked
Cass. "Yup. Its a small place, but one of my friend's dads owns it, so I got a free job there. " Cass shrugged. Based off the way Amber looked, she would have assumed she worked in a slightly less calm place, like a hairdresser, or a makeup store, or a stri-
"Look, look, he said something! "

snapping Cass out of her train of thought,  She glanced over at the two.

Max had pointed out something in a newspaper headline along the side of the road, and had commented on it to Blake. Blake suddenly had gone into a rant about it. She couldn't hear much from the distance she was at, but she could make out some words. "Accusing those innocent of sin.... Absolutely disgusting.... Hateful... " where the only things that she could hear.

"Jeez, wonder what's got him so fired up? Must be something important to him, or else he wouldn't be like... This. " "you think?" Said Cass softly. Amber sighed and held the bridge of her nose. "I know Benjamin. The only reason he'd go into a rant is because he was upset or angry. "

"Huh. " said Cass, noting that for later.

Eventually Benjamin stopped his rant and  sighed. Max said something to him and smiled weakly. Benjamin  muttered something, clearly upset. Max grabbed his hand and said something, presumably trying to calm him down. Benjamin smiled at him appreciatively.

They continued walking for a while, Max excitedly commenting on things like puppies, or flowers, or other things, Benjamin smiling and nodding. "Oh, they are totally gonna be a thing. "Said Amber mischievously. Cass sighed and rolled her eyes.

Eventually the two stopped at Max's house. "Ooh, he escorted Maxy to his house, what a gentleman~" said Amber, teasingly. Cass sighed and continued watching them. Max and Blake were face-to-face for once, Benjamin having to look down a little to compensate for Max's tiny height.

Max started turning towards his door, but right before he did, he turned towards Benjamin for the last time. "Oh, and uh, Ben... " they heard. "Omg omg omg he NEVER let's anyone call him 'Ben'!  They are TOTS dating! " whispered Amber. Without any sense of warning, Max grabbed Benjamin by the collar of his shirt, pecked him on the lips and skipped away to his door. Amber let out an audible squeal.

Ben looked taken aback. He stood there frozen for a moment, arms still at his sides, before he turned so that Amber and Cass could see his face. He looked incredibly shocked and was blushing furiously. His hand was over his mouth. He looked to the left, the right, then slowly started walking away.

A few feet away, he looked back at Max's house with a look of almost longing in his eyes. Then, he spun on his heel and continued walking.

Meanwhile, in the bush, Amber was losing her mind. Texting her friends in the group chat furiously, squealing all the while, with Cass next to her, flipping through the newspaper headlines trying to see what Benjamin got worked up about.

"Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, they're gonna be boyfriends forever! And they're gonna get married and I'm gonna be at the wedding and-and-and-"

Cass cut her off, nudging her shoulder and pointing to a headline on the article. "Uhm, Amber, this is the page Max was pointing at. " Amber looked at the paper for a moment, taking a while to process it, before her squealing escalated into screaming.

On the paper, there were the words "local controversy over lgbtq rights" and it suddenly clicked in Cass's mind.

defensive of lgbtq rights.

Incredibly flustered over one thing.

That look he gave Max's house.

Oh god, he really did have a crush, didn't he?
