Being Bree

Me and Kitty were walking in the hallway, when I saw Jake. I felt my stomach tied into a knot. We made eye contact but I looked away quickly. Kitty was saying something but I wasn't listening.

"Um...what was that?" I asked and she sighed.
"Are you even listening" she groaned. "No" I answered. "Jake's coming over here" she said

It took me a minute to figure out what she just said.

"I'm sorry, I'm not hearing you correctly. I thought you said Jake's coming over here." I replied sarcastic.

Kitty looks at me and tears welled up in my eyes.

"Come here" she said taking me into the bathroom. "What happen" she asks once we are alone.

"He asked me on a date and I said yes. He took me at a very expensive and fancy restaurant. I was thinking about if he had ever taken any one of his girlfriends to a fancy place like that, when I remembered that he has a girlfriend. So I got up and leave. He was asking me why am I leaving and then I told him." I blurted out in tears.

She pulled me in for a hug and then I buried my face into her neck and let more tears out.

"Bree, I don't understand how you could go out with Jake Puckerman." she said stroking my hair
"What" I asked stop crying
"Hunny, Jake's the school biggest player and it looks really bad for a nice girl like you to go out with him" she said warmly
"Yeah. Can you help me up?"

She helps me stand up and then she wipes my tears. She smiled at me and then we leave the bathroom.

After we exit the bathroom, I saw Melissa, the school's gossip girl, coming towards me and Kitty with a camera. Videoing.

"Bree is it true" she asks
"Is what true" I asked although I think I know exactly what she is talking about.
"That Jake Puckerman played you?" she asked shoving a microphone in my face.

I looked around me and students are watching. I see Jake at the end of the hallway talking to his 'girlfriend'.

I walked up to him and I had tears in my eyes. His girlfriend looked confused. She should be!

"Why did you tell people about last night. Huh?" I questioned. "I didn't." he lied. "No you're lying" I said on the verge of tears.

I walk away and then the reporter girl comes behind me. "I've had enough of you" I said before slapping her in her face. She winced at the slap and I smirked at her.

"Are you a bad girl?" a girl asked shyly.

"No...not yet" I responded.

"Can you give me a ride home" Kitty asks and I nod

We got in my car and then I drive to Kitty's house. She told me where she lives a couple days ago.

During the ride to her house, all we did was acted crazy and sing along to our favourite songs. It wasn't until now that I realized that Kitty can sing. Like really good. I can sing too but I never sang make people hear. The only person I ever sang for is my mom and my boyfriend.

I think Kitty notices me singing

"Bree! You can sing so damn good" she smiles
"I know. Please don't tell anyone" I pleads and she nods.

I reached her house and then she said bye and left. I drived back to my house.

When I got there, I plopped down on the couch. I scrolled through my Twitter and saw that someone tagged me in a post.

Hell no!

Ok, so now people are talking about me on social media. What have I ever done to these people? Nothing! All I ever done is be kind to people. Except from when I slapped Melissa. But that's done with.

At that moment I decide, Bree is going to be mean to people.
