A Fox's Journey Book 8: Skye Fall and Snowy Feather's Destinies

Chapter 1: The Special Day

 One warm day in LeafBreeze an elder named Shining Pebbles felt a little wiggle coming from inside of her. Shining Pebbles only thought about it for a moment before taking off to see Rip Tide, MountainRange's beloved healer. When she got there she found a grumpy Polar Blaze in on the floor checking out one of Pine Cone's swollen flanks.

"Polar Blaze, is Rip Tide here?" Shining Pebbles asked Polar Blaze breathlessly. In reply Polar Blaze grunted unhappily and pointed with her tail towards the back of the Healer's den.

"Oh, Polar Blaze quit being a grumpy paws. You have no need to act all grumpy all of the time like River Song. Having two grumpy healers in this camp won't get an herbs." Rip Tide told Polar Blaze curtly as she walked over to Shining Pebbles.

"Hi, Shining Pebbles what can I do you for? If it is WhiteCloud there is not much I can do for you we are all out of the herb that I need for it." Rip Tide quizzically asked Shining Pebbles who point to her swollen flanks.

"Okay, Pine Cone two more weeks and then your pups will be here. Now I am ordering you to stay off of all hunting and border patrols from now until your pups are born." Polar Blaze grumpily ordered Pine Cone.

"Seriously Polar Blaze! There is no need to order her around like that. Now Pine Cone listen to me. You can do a few more patrols as long as you come to see one of us each day." Rip Tide calmly told Pine Cone who nodded happily and then walked out of the den right as Tiny Song ran in.

"Polar Blaze! Come quick there has been a major problem with the area where we grow the herb we use for WhiteCloud!" Tiny Song urgently called to her former mentor.

"Okay, Okay, Tiny Song, I am coming, I am coming now give me a chance to get up and out of here," Polar Blaze grumpily called out to Tiny Song as she passed by Rip Tide.

"Ugh... sorry Shining Pebbles sometimes I feel as if we should give her and River Song a lesson because of how grumpy they can be," Rip Tide told Shining Pebbles who gave her a sympathetic look.

"Yes, maybe one day you should Rip Tide, but you do realize that it is their choice to be that grumpy. My daughter should know not to be grumpy all of the time, but you can't blame Polar Blaze completely for her behavior," a fox whispered into Rip Tide's ear.

"Shining Pebbles, Nettle Herb did either of you say that?" Rip Tide asked the foxes who were in the den with her.

"No we didn't Rip Tide,"Nettle herb told Rip Tide a little confused. As he thought, I wonder if Rip Tide has had a new vision come to her? As soon as Rip Tide had asked the question she was off of it and checking over Shining Pebbles bulging belly.

"Well, Shining Pebbles it is good news for you! You are going to have pups," Rip Tide told Shining Pebbles happily as she paced the floor of the den.

"Oh my StarRange thank you Rip Tide. Thank you so much!" Shining Pebbles exclaimed to Rip Tide happily. As Shining Pebbles walked out she ran into Lavender Willow who almost fell backwards.

"Oops sorry Lavender Willow. I just found out that I am going to have pups," Shining Pebbles happily said to Lavender Willow who nodded. Suddenly Shining Pebbles fell to the ground her pups they were on their way into the world.

"That's it, that's it you're both doing so good Pine Cone and Shining Pebbles. Now one more push Pine Cone and all of your pups will be here. Shining Pebbles about two more pushes and then yours will be here," Rip Tide told both of the pup mothers. That was when Shining Pebbles felt two bundles beside her and the bundles were two vixens.

"Shining Pebbles what will you name your pups?" Rip Tide asked Shining Pebbles as she set the white vixen she was holding down

   "I shall name them Skye for the whitish blue vixen and Snowy for the all white vixen," Shining Pebbles decided excitedly and thought, It has been so long since I had my first litter of pups. I can believe I have new ones to take care of.
