Before I figured out what happened the killer was plunging the knife into my chest, a salty taste filled my mouth as I started to feel dizzy. With the last bit of strength I punched the killer in the jaw, it seemed he fell in slow motion onto his knife. He didn't move, he was dead. I started to choke on the blood that filled my throat, then I saw a figure kneel down beside me. The person was screaming for help and then I closed my eyes and everything went quiet. I tried to open my eyes but everything was pitch black. "Hello?" I croaked. "Ethan?! Oh thank god!" said a female voice. Then I heard footsteps and a flick from a light switch, I soon discovered that the person was Amy. "Are you okay?" Amy said in a concerned tone "yeah, I'm fine." I tried to sit up but winced at the pain in my chest, I looked down to see a huge bandage stained with blood covering my chest, I also discovered that we were on my mom's couch in the living room of my house. "No, no, no, lay down" Amy said "Here I have some soup" Amy proceeded to hand me a warm can of soup. I tried to hold the soup, but my hand would shake so much that I couldn't lift it to my mouth. "Here let me help." Amy said calmly, she then started feeding the soup to me. I found the situation really awkward but I guess it was fine, since Amy wasn't bothered by it. Soon after Amy asked "What happened?" "I-i... my-my mother... uhh." I struggled with words "you can tell me later" Amy giggled "here take these, they'll help with the pain." She then proceeded to give me a glass of water and two pills. I struggled with swallowing them but they went down quickly. After a few minutes the pain started to fade but not completely disappear. I sat up next to Amy and explained that how I found a gun, how the killer stabbed my mother cold-blooded, how he stabbed me in the chest and how he fell on his knife. Amy's eyes widened as I told the story "Oh god, I thought t-the man was your dad so I helped him get better too." Her eyes were filled with fear and so was mine "What?Where is he?" He left not to long before you woke u..." her eyes darted behind me "Oh no, we need to go, NOW!" She screamed and I turned to see red flames devouring the house. She grabbed my hand and pulled me to the back door, she grabbed two backpacks one of them mine and rushed out the door. We opened the gate in the backyard and ran for the street, Amy started to run down the street "come on!" Amy called. I realised that the car was still running and yelled "Wait, the car keys are still in the truck!" We rushed into the car, closed the doors and Amy started driving away. We started zooming down the street when I heard the house explode into a red, hot blaze. We were safe... for now...
