"Can we go now? We did nothing wrong". This was so dumb. I never thought that I would be in this situation, if my mom finds out. I'm done.
"Amilee?"
Shit.
"Amilee, is she here?!" I hear my mom's voice around the corner. We were basically twiddling our thumbs in a room that has those creepy half mirror half "I can see you, so don't try anything" windows that I've usually just seen in movies. They have tightened the hand-cuffs to the point where I can't even feel my fingers. But that's besides the point. The point is that I'm about to my ass chewed by the only person that I feel that I shouldn't be related to... my mother.
"Amilee?" I see my mother peer around the corner into the room. I want to hide, but the farthest I get out of the chair is turning my head left. Oh boy now I'm invisible. "Amilee Courtney Kirby"
My mom announces as if I broke a window or something. Thank God Ethan isn't around to hear the absolute trash that is my real name. Couldn't have gone with something simple like Rebecca or Emily, nooo that would be TOO easy. Let's go with goddamn Amilee. I'm already pissed off at this whole situation, I just want to go home. "I don't even know who you are anymore! I thought you said that you were finally going to college and that you found someone special, but instead you make the boy you want to fuck your partner in crime?" My face is on fire. My cheeks are red, my knuckles white. I feel like punching something so hard that it might split into two. But instead I cry. I start bawling until my vision goes blurry and a loud ringing fills my ears accompanied by the loud pounding from my heart. I feel like dying. I just wanted to help. I never wanted this. I don't deserve this.

But I guess life isn't kind to people just because they're good.

I snap back to reality with my mom in my face. Her black hair hovering in front of her left eye only showing a dark swirling brown iris floating in a ball of white mist. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, I took it too far. Please, tell me what happened."
I take a few minutes to calm down and explain how I turned the corner to see a man and a woman both stabbed in the chest, the woman dead and the man still breathing with Ethan next to them in a puddle of blood I took the man and Ethan inside. Woke up the man only to see him run out of the house. Once I was done helping Ethan we walked out to see the house on fire and the man nowhere to be found. We left in Ethan's truck and headed for my place when the police showed up right as we were settling in. They broke all my shit as well as toasting us in the process. I hear a few chuckles from some of the cops outside and yell "Hey! Douchbags! Let's see who will be laughing when you get charged with police brutality, huh?" The laughter immediately stops and I turn to my mom with her obvious "really?" Face and quickly say "what? They hit me in the face!"
"I don't care what they did. What I care about is how we're going to prove to them how you are telling the truth." I take a couple of minutes to think.  I wonder if Ethan's car has those rear view cameras? Because if it does, would there be a way I could access that footage?
"What do we do now?" I say exhausted. She looks confused and walks out of the room for an moment. A few minutes pass until I see her walk through the door again. "We wait until they're done interrogating Ethan, then we figure out how we can convince them it wasn't you guys, any ideas on how we do that?"
I responded with the same thought I had earlier, "What if there was a way to access the camera footage on the car? The car has everything you guys need to know there."
She smirks a little and walks out of the room again.
A little longer this time.
The policeman that has been watching me looks at his watch impatiently. "Chief! How long are we going to let this girl here? She's been here for 3 hours now."
A voice calls out through  mouthful of food. "They're checking out the crime scene, they'll be here any minute."
A few minutes pass and I see Ethan round the corner into my room. No hand cuffs, but still being held by the shirt from a officer. They take a few steps into the room and the policeman sits him down into the chair next to me. We don't get a chance to speak because almost right after, a police officer walks into the room along with my mother who has a tape in her hand.

Ethan's P.O.V

I watch the lady give the tape to the chief for him to immediately put it into a t.v. on a stand.
He fast fowards a bit and he presses play.
This is what I see.
The man walks up to my mom with glasses and a medical mouth mask and makes a bit of conversation, after a few moments of talking I see him swiftly take a knife out of his hoodie pocket and plunge it into my mom. I feel tears in my eyes and I quickly wipe them. The next thing I see is me, I walk out with the gun and aim it at the killer. Oh no. He pauses the clip and uses a ruler to point at the gun. "Do you have a permit for this gun?" He says calmly
"I uh. No?"
"How did you purchase this?"
"I found it, in my closet" I say, my voice softened.
"So." He starts to walk towards me, but close the door instead. "So, your telling me, you found a gun in your closet after living there for how long?"
"18 yea-" I say getting interrupted
He slams his fists into the desk. I see Amy flinch a little.
"Your whole GODDAMN LIFE you have been using this *closet* and it is now, when your mother gets murdered is when you find it."
"I never said when I found it, sir." My voice a little louder this time.
The corner of his mouth twitches down a little and he presses play again. I watch my self try to shoot the gun and the recording stops again. He slaps down the gun in front of me. "Shoot it." He says quietly.
"Excuse me?!" Amy says bewildered
"Shoot it!!" He grabs it and places it in my hands, pointing the barrel  at his forehead. "Shoot!" He screams again.
I furrow my eyebrows as I pull the trigger.
