Why Me? chapter 2

Omigosh I turned to Austin and started crying on his shoulder.

            “He doesn’t have that long, we still have10 months before the wedding, he is not going to make it, I can’t marry you without having my dad there to give me away.”

            “Well then four months from now you tell me if you want to marry me, and become Ramie Josephine Myers, and if you decide to wait, I decide to wait, I don’t want you to do something you don’t feel comfortable doing.”

            I always knew I loved him.

            “But right now let’s go talk to your dad why we still can.”  Spoke calmly.

Everyone got up and followed the nurse to room 214, but I stayed behind and tried calling Ryder Jon one last time. At the sixth ring he answered.

            “What do you want you really need to stop calling me over and over again im trying to work here, what do you want.”

            I thought I could do. But I couldn’t, I burst into tears. “dad had a secure and is in the hospital and the nurse just told us to say our last good byes please come.” By now I was crying even harder than ever.

            “O’ god I will be there in like two hours. Keep him strong ramie.”

“Okay please try to hurry”

“I will go as fast as the police let me.”

“Okay bye.” Hanging up quickly.

            Austin came out and got me and took me to room 214. I ran to my father, and gave him a huge hug.

            “I love you daddy.” I said very tearfully.

“I love you to sweetheart” my dad looking very calm in fact.

            “Ryder is on his way, so he will be here.” I told him

            “okay, I want you to always remember, even though I wouldn’t be able to hold your hand as you walk down that isle, I will still be there right next to you, the whole way, okay.” dad said still calm as could be.

            Okay dad I love you” I said starting to hug Austin, I wanted to be in his arms so bad right now.

“ Now Austin, I want you to take care of my little girl, and never let her down and though I wont be able to give her away at the wedding I am giving her away to you right now” he said.

            “Thank you sir. I promise I will never let her down. And I will never let you down on that promise sir.” Austin started to pull me closer. I knew he wanted to assure me he was telling the truth. I smiled a little bit at that.

            “Now kids.” He said as he pulled Tayci, Markus, Landon up onto the bed with him. “ you guys better be good for your mom, listen to her, help her if needed, no back talking or  arguing, and when she says no that’s the ends of the conversation, okay?” dad spoke calmly as if he was really tired.

            “AGREED” they all said at once, it kind of sounded cute and it just made me think how lucky Rachel is to have three wonderful angels.

            Dad quickly turned his head and with a smile looked at Rayne and Rachel.

            “Girls, I love both of you and you know it and I want what’s best for you, through your years of life I may not have been the best father but I tried my best, I hope you know that. Though I won’t be there the rest of your life, I want you to always remember I love you.”

            Dad looked around the room, “I love all of you, previous family, and soon to be family and I will always be with all of you no matter what.”

            “BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP”

            That was the last thing I heard from my father, he died on august 13, 2019.
