Chapter ~!8~

Chapter 18

Brad’s POV

“I’m falling for you too.” Laura said, sincerely. I felt the corners of my mouth lift up, but before I could break out in a full grin, Laura pecked me on the lips. Sadly, it was only for a mere second.

I looked at her with puppy dog eyes and she rolled her eyes and said,

“Come on, our friends are waiting for us.”

“B-Bu-“

“No buts mister.” She said sternly, causing me to sigh in defeat,

      “Fine.” She smiled and took my hand. Slowly we managed to get to the front door. I placed my hand on the antique bar attached to the door. I pulled and nothing happened. I started panicking.

“Why can’t it open? What if suddenly an alien came? There’s nowhere else to go! What’s going to happen to James and Lo-“ I got interrupted by Laura,

      “You’re supposed to push the door babe.” She clarified. I sighed in relief as she opened the door. We looked around the diner, trying to find Jola. After a while, we spotted them. Laura and I walked over to the booth they were in.

      “Hey guys, what took you so long?” James asked.

“Well, we, um fell.” I stuttered, looking at Laura wiggling my eyebrows, she giggled, trying to copy me but failing, adorably.

“Fell on what?” Lola joined in.

“Well, um, Brad here tripped on a rock, and I tried to grab him, but ended up falling with him. Right Brad?” Laura asked, nudging me.

“Yeperdeedooda, that’s exactly what happened.”

“Yeperdeedooda?” James and Lola asked, simultaneously.

“Yepe- yes.”

“Okay… Let’s order now.” Lola said, changing the subject.

“Wait, we haven’t seen the menu’s yet!” I said, my stomach yearning for food.  They gave us their menus and I scanned it, till my eyes landed on, Deep fried cheeseburgers.

“I want this!!!” I squealed like a 9 year old.

“Deep fried cheese burger?”

“Yup”

“okay….” Laura said. Laura got all of our orders and told James to call a waiter.

“Waiter!” James said, raising his hands. A guy probably 18 came up to us, eyeing Laura, feeling my boyfriend instincts kick in, I put my arm over Laura.

“What would you guys like?” The dude said, still looking at Laura.

“Yeah, what would we like Babe?” I said, making sure to exaggerate babe.

“Can we have 1 deep fried cheeseburger, 2 waffle deluxe’s, and 1 eggs benedict? Oh and can you stop staring at me? It’s making me uncomfortable.” Laura said, with a little sass at the end.

Looking taken aback, the waiter nodded and scurried off. Once he was gone, Lola, James and I burst into laughter.

Confused, Laura asked, “What’s so funny?”

“Can you stop staring at me? It’s making me uncomfortable” Lola said, doing her best Laura impression.

“What? He was!”

“We know.” I said.

I kissed her on the forehead and while I was pulling back, I whispered thank you into her ear.
