I see it, I see the hand, the figure, it's looking at me, but I still can't tell who it is. It walks closer to me and I feel a gravitational pull towards it, it's as if I can't control my own body's movements. It does the same thing as before, it draws its hand and delicately touches mine, with a feeling of love and care attached to it. I can't stop looking at our hands together. I feel a presence of uncertainty and fear, like, this thing is going to hurt me or leave me, again. I start shaking and I feel my eyes grow into sadness, what's going on? I didn't feel this way last time, I'm so confused, I'm so scared; I want it to be true, I want this to be real, but I hesitate at the touch of this entity. As I start to cry, the figure's fingers start to intertwine with mine. As they did in the previous dream. I suddenly feel my body break down into sorrow, I fall to my knees and let out small sobs of frustration. My head is bowed, but our hands are still intertwined, although my grip loosens the more I cry. The figure then kneels down in front of me and places and hand on my back whilst holding onto my shaking hand. It starts pulling me closer when.....
BEEP...BEEP
"Crap," I say to myself in annoyance, I guess I forgot to turn off my alarm for today, but why do I still have it on? Oh right, I wanted to have a reminder of humanity, the 'waking up at a certain time everyday' type of humanity. I know it seems stupid, but I need to have reminders of old civilization. I may live in a high tech environment where I don't have to work or do basically anything, but then I would become easily depressed and start drifting off into a headspace of loss and sadness. I have done it before and almost found myself regretting a dumb decision, if Harper wasn't there...I might've gone through with it. I quickly blink my eyes and sit up, finally turning my annoyingly loud alarm off.
I yawn and get up from my bed, I walk to the bathroom and look at my face in the mirror. My face is seemingly clear with an assortment of freckles portrayed onto it. I brush my pastel purple and blue hair, then place it into a messy bun. My roots have started growing out more, maybe it's time for a re-dye? My natural color is a golden brown, with strands of ginger, plus a few grey hairs. Once my hair is finally up I wet my face and grab my facial cleanser. I lightly wash my whole face, my fingertips smoothly sliding over my well-defined jawline. I wash off the excess soap and then pat my face using a towel. I then apply a toner and some moisturizer; I rub it delicately over my face and underneath my eyes, I can feel my face soak up the moisture like a sponge. I then apply coconut oil to my morning plump lips. I spool back my eyebrows and tweeze a few stragglers. I leave the bathroom and walk over to my closet. My hand glides over the hologram pad that is placed beside my closet door. I then choose my outfit from there. I chose a simple white t-shirt with some equally white shorts. Both items of clothing are crafted from 'Refungenite' which is what my dome is actually made out of. The mineral is so strong and protective that it's used in everything I wear and sleep in. I guess that's why my dome is so strong.
I leave my room and quickly go to the kitchen, I grab a bowl and some yogurt from the fridge. I put a few dollops of yogurt into the bowl then I add some fresh strawberries along with some granola. I grab a spoon and then sit down at the dining table. I eat my food rather slowly as I gaze through the window. Harper kept it raining outside for me, I thank her for that. I smile slightly at the small droplets of water raining down onto Harper's umbrella. Even though it was raining, she still tended to the plants. Her umbrella was clear with white chrome trimming. I watched as she gripped the handle firmly with her white metal hand. Although most of her was waterproof, she always had slight concerns about her metal aging if it was ever to be wet. I laugh as she slips on some mudding area. I laugh into my hand that is holding the spoon. It would seem that my laughter was noticed by Harper, she looks at me with an angry look as she tries to pick herself off the ground, she sighs as she sees her bottom almost completely covered in mud. I let out a small "aww" with a light chuckle as I put my spoon in my bowl and then go and retrieve a towel for Harper. I run out to her with the towel In both hands, on my way over I try not trip as the cool raindrops fall onto to my fair arms. I smiled at Harper and help her wipe off the mud from her bum. She speaks in a slightly sighed tone "Miss...I know you enjoy the rain, but it is such a nuisance for me, especially since I'm the one who tends to the garden most of the time." A sad smile is placed on my face, as I look at it one last time before speaking, "I suppose you can turn it back to sunny." Harper then nods and the hologram pops up a few taps and there goes the gloominess, no more rain, at least for now. I silently sigh and return inside the home. Harper watches me leave and has a seemingly saddened look on her face. I know she supposedly 'can' feel emotions, but I just don't think she understands the entirety of it.
I clean my bowl quickly and then return to my room. I grab my electric guitar from it's hanging place and turn on the built-in amp system that is wired throughout my whole room. My room..is really big actually. I didn't know this when I was younger, but my room was actually designed for multiple people, which I assumed to be the rest of classmates from the Orphanage. Harper had told me that Ms. Vivian, designed this room to be a nice holding place for her students to live in. on the walls, you can actually tap a few buttons and then a bed pops out of the wall, pretty cool. Unfortunately, since I was the only one who made it, I only need one bed, so, I strategically chose the bed that looked the best in the room, I did a little bit reconstruction and made the bed bigger over time to fit my growing body. The room was empty for a while, but I started customizing it more and more so that it didn't feel so empty. I have a hanging display for all my instruments, I have multiple, and then a station for writing and research.
I start to pick my guitar and then I play a song. My callused fingers holding down different strings as I pick with my less hardened fingers. I used to feel pain when playing the guitar, but after a while, the pain just went away. As I play, I suddenly get flashes of my dream from last night, I just continue to play and try to shove those thoughts away. I don't want to think about that. I keep feeling a presence near me or inside me, I can't tell which, to be honest. I don't even realize that I'm playing aggressively on my guitar; my hands are growing sweaty and my body begins to shake. I feel a sweatydroplsweatrun down my forehead. My mind is still in a daze. I can't stop playing until..Pop! One of my strings breaks and I am snapped out of my daze. I wiped my sweaty hands on my bed and wipe my head off as well. I put my guitar down on my bed and just sit there.
"What the hell is going on?!"
