"God this is really hard..." John chuckled nervously wringing his hands. Alexander smiled affectionately at his boyfriend. Alex moved to South Carolina only six months ago, and they've only been dating for four. Not to mention their relationship had to be kept secret. John's parents were incredibly homophobic, and Alex's foster parents, the Adams, were not only homophobic but would look for any reason to despise their foster child.
"Hey, it's okay John."
"I know I know, it's just I'm not great with words. Heh that's more your forte." John smiled wryly, Alex giggled and shook his head,
"Just tell me you knucklehead!"
"Run away with me!" John smiled excitedly at Alex clutching the keys to his small car. Alex's expression quickly dropped,
"John... I don't know, this, this is all happening so quickly!" Alex frantically ran his hand through his hair. John groaned in response and shook his head.
"I know, but just think about it Alex, we could get away from here. We could go somewhere where we can be ourselves, and you can get away from your foster parents!"
"John! This is crazy! We can't just... your seventeen, and I'm sixteen, sixteen, we're not even out of school yet! We can barely get a job at a restaurant!" Alex reasoned desperately. John grabbed Alex's frantic hands and kissed them softly.
"I know it's crazy Alex, but I'm crazier for you! I love you Lex..."
"John..."
"Let me be your ride out town! We can get away from here! I have all these plans Alex! We can find a little place close to the city, so you can go to college, and, and, New York is way way more accepting than here!"
"John we've been dating for four months, what if this, what if we don't work out?" John tilted his head back and sighed,
"I'm not asking to marry you! I'm not saying that we have to be together forever. But we both know this will be better for us! For both of us! And at this very moment, I love you more than logic could ever explain." Alex smiled and kissed John's cheek.
"I love you too..."
"So!" John asked excitedly, Alex sighed smiling up at John,
"Alright... let's get out of this place." John smiled brightly picking Alex up and spinning him around.
"John stop! Oh my god!" Alex giggled,
"Come on let's get going!"
"Wait!" John turned back confused, Alex leaned up and kissed John lightly, John reciprocated in kind.
"Alright. I'm ready."
