Shrek finally found where John had gone, and walked up happily to the victorious wrestler.

"John! That was amazing--" Shrek's gasp interrupted his words of encouragement as he saw John's battered and bruised face. The man gave a weak smile and turned back to a mirror in front of him, tenderly applying ice to his wounds.

Shrek rushed up to his counterpart, holding his face to get a better look at the injury. John had a black eye, and it was already started to swell a bit over his face.

"Are you okay?" Shrek questioned, concern filling his voice.

"Yeah- I'm fine... thanks for being here for me." John smiled at the man in front of him, and Shrek was suddenly aware of how close they were standing together.

"Could you grab that ice pack? I don't have enough hands for all of these bruises." John chuckled as he motioned to a blue ice-pack across the room. Shrek nodded, grabbing the pack and walking back over to John. He held it to the front of John's shoulder, their proximity alarming.

Shrek never truly processed how muscled John was- but now that they were so close, Shrek took notice.

Shrek could feel John's body heat as they stood so close, and he looked down to hide his blushing face.

"Shrek..." John breathed, his eyes looking over the ogre in front of him. He leaned closer into Shrek's touch, feeling the ice-pack press more into his shoulder as they grew closer. "Thank you, really."

Shrek looked into John's eyes, blinking his softly as they grew closer. He dropped the ice pack, putting his hands on the man's skin instead. John gripped Shrek's body, pulling them closer together.

"John-- what are you doing?" Shrek murmured as he leaned more into John, their lips getting closer together.

"I'm doing what feels right... Shrek- I think I'm in love with you."

Their lips came in contact, John's fresh bruises forgotten in the swirl of emotions.

It was then that Shrek came to finally accept what he felt for this new man in his life.

"John-- I love you, too."
