"No! This is- This is all wrong! ALL WRONG!!"

A dark-haired man stood in a lab, shouting in frustration. A giant machine stood beside him as he looked at the millions of papers in front of him. He had painstakingly built a machine for it to only break down now.

As he looks over the blueprints, the machine kept sounding its alarm signifying that it will soon explode. But even at a crucial moment like this, the scientist risked his life to continue his research.

He had tried everything. Everything to bring her back. From black magic to time travel, but none seems to work. In anger, the man pushed everything off his desk. All of his life-long research crashed into the ground, but he didn't care. Too lost in his anger, the machine flashed a blaring red light.

It kept flashing, but the man didn't pay attention to it. He was searching for something. Something in the chaotic mess.

One last red flash and-

Time's up.

Everything went up in a white light and he knew that he had wasted too much time. But it's too late. He wouldn't be able to escape even if he wanted to. So the man just stood there, facing his death. An explosion sounded, then pitch darkness settled in. He felt nothing at first, but then a searing pain tore him apart. But he didn't care. He was somewhat relieved and content.

Maybe this way, he'll finally be with her. To atone for his sin long ago. Maybe, they'll finally be together again.

Even at his death, all he could think about is the girl that haunted his dreams.

'Rin... I'm sorry. If there's another life, I'll never let you go.'

Maybe God heard his wish. Maybe miracles do happen. By the time he opened his eyes again, he realized that he had been reborn.
