Meanwhile...

Sitting in a carriage was a cold man wearing a pure white robe. His long, inky hair spilt down from his head, surrounding him in graceful tresses. Decorating his face was a silver mask, revealing only his eyes, his sharp jaws and his lips. He sprawled lazily across the carriage seats, his mask reflecting the sunlight. Cold and aloof. Yet his usually icy eyes were trained onto a single jade pendant.

There was really nothing special about the jade pendant and it was like any other. However, tied on top of the it was a silver ring. Simple, smooth and plain with no fancy designs or gems of the sort.

Yet the man looked at it with endearing eyes. From his status and stature, this man obviously has seen many other jewellery. Many of which that are much rarer and more beautiful than this. In fact, even if it was a national treasure and there was only one of it in the world, the man could easily attain it. Yet he only has eyes for this simple object.

He reached out a finger to gently brush along something on the inside of the silver ring. As his finger moved away, a single word was revealed: Rin

After a while, he carefully tied the pendant back onto his waist and took a look outside the carriage's window. Absentmindedly, his hand went to twist the silver ring around his middle finger. If one paid attention, they would notice that his ring looked exactly like the other ring. The only difference would be its size.

He took it off his finger and like the other ring, it also has a word engraved inside: Jin.

And he smiled softly at the memory that the two engraved word brought.

When the two were still children, they both changed their names to separate them from their past. They promised each other that when they grow up, they'll officially change their name and live their life anew. Let their old name died along with their past as they'll live newer and better lives.

Hence on his 15th birthday, she bought him this silver ring and although it was simple, it carried so much meaning. She was poor and with the type of family she had, he knew that she went through hardship to get him this ring. And to make things more special, she had it engraved with his new name. Jin. Later on, he also got her one with her name on it.

Although... In this life, Jin became his surname and now he carries another name: Kai

Then waking up from the memory, a village slowly made its way into his view. He silently slipped the ring back on as he ordered the driver to stop. Then he stepped out of the carriage and took in the view of his surroundings and the village.

Subsequently, he took a glance back at the pendant on his waist and had he not look closely, he might shrug it off as a trick of the light. But the pendant was indeed glowing a faint green hue.

It might look like a simple pendant, but it definitely carries many secrets.

When he was still little and just start cultivating, he was shocked to find out he was a Space Mage. Then came another shocker when he found out that his family of this life, have always been Space Mages for generations. And possibly, the last ones in the world due to Space Mages being hunted down for their cheat-like techniques. Even so, the Jin family became influential without needing to use their powers as Space Mage nor anyone knowing so.

Back then when his father instructed him to create his own space instead of using a Space Ring, he was again shocked to find out that he already has a space of his own and didn't need to create one. And not only that, there was something else laying in there. Lying quietly was the two silver rings that had his name and Rin's name engraved in it and somehow they had managed to travel with him through to this life.

Furthermore, there was something else besides the ring. Next to Rin's ring was a jade pendant, the exact one he's currently wearing. Later on, he found out that it carries a small portion of Rin's soul, so now he's using it to find her.

But back then, the jade was silent and murky without a movement. Not a single light could even be seen passing it. So a month ago, when the dead pendant suddenly glowed a green light, he knew that she is now somewhere in this world. So he went on quest on finding her. But so far, he returned fruitlessly every single time.

So now seeing how it glowed faintly with a clear green luster, he knew she was somewhere near this village.

He starts walking towards the village, his eyes constantly darting back to the jade to see if there are any changes. But it still remained the same, faintly glowing like it had since the beginning.

However, because all his attention was on the jade, he didn't notice the fast approaching figure from behind. The figure ran towards him and-

CRASH!

The person hit him hard, almost knocking him off his feet. Nonetheless, due to his cultivation and martial arts, he easily stabilized himself but the same couldn't be said for the other person. The person crashed harshly onto the floor and slid across the ground, making him wince at the pain. Then they just laid there silently.

Suddenly out of nowhere, the person abruptly sat up."Ow, ow, ouch...."

Glaring at the person who crashed into him, he noticed it was a girl. She wore a light blue robe with her black hair tied into a high ponytail. At the moment, she had her eyes closed in pain as she rubbed her sore shoulders.

Then she stood up and dusted herself up before slapping her two hands together with a sorry expression, "Aiya, I'm so sorry! I wasn't paying attention."
