"Brighton, come here please," my father said from the kitchen.

"Coming, Dad." I stood up from my stool and made my way into the kitchen to see my dad intently staring at the calendar on the wall. "Yeah?"

"What plans do you have in the middle of July?" He asked turning to me and tapping his chin thoughtfully.

"Ummm... I don't think I have any aside from possibly staying at Mum's. Why?"

"Well, I was thinking you, your sister, and brother might like to go someplace for a holiday?"

I raised my eyebrows, "and you and Stacey?" Stacey was my Dad's... Girlfriend I guess you could call her, I had never been told an official title.

"Yes, with me and Stacey. Do you think your mum would be okay with that?" He looked back to the calendar and pulled a marker from behind his ear.

"I'm sure, I mean, she's busy with the twins and Charles lately so I probably wouldn't see her much anyways. Plus, I was just there over the weekend."

My mum left my dad about five years ago when I was thirteen along with me, my brother, and my sister, Victoria and Alexander- Victoria now seventeen and Alexander nineteen. A year or two after the divorce, my mom remarried some banking agent, or something, named Charles. She had the twins, Charlie and Olivia, a couple years ago.

"Well, okay. Why don't you go ring your siblings and ask them about it? By the way, how's Harry doing today?"

I rolled my eyes at my Dad's nosiness, "he's fine, Dad. He had bootcamp today, so he's busy."

"Good, good. Are you two together or just friends or what?"

"Dad, you're like a girl, you wanna know all the juicy details," I teased. "I don't really know, I know we're more than friends but he hasn't officially asked me to be his girlfriend, so..."

"Hey, I was just wondering. You are my baby girl, so I worry. He needs to officially introduce himself as your boyfriend though, when it does happen." I nodded my head and rolled my eyes as I walked out of the kitchen and into the living room. I pulled my phone out and scrolled through my contacts.

"Hey, Sis! What's up?" Alexander said once he answered the call.

"Nothing much, just flipping through some channels on the telly. Hey, so Dad was thinking about taking you, Victoria, and I someplace for a holiday; do you think you could go?"

"Depends... Is Stacey going?" I laughed at him and rolled my eyes.

"Yes, Alex, she is. Now can you go or not? He's thinking about the last week of July or something."

"Yeah, I can, I guess... Is Victoria going?"

"I don't know, I have to ask. Jeez, there's only so much a woman can do."

"Correction: girl. You're still a girl, Brighton."

"Yeah, whatever. I'll talk to you later. Love you, bye." I pressed the end button and scrolled down to Victoria.

"Brighton!"

"Victoria! How's my baby sister doing?" I imagined her rolling her eyes at that.

"I'm pretty good. How about you?"

"I'm good. How's Oxford? Is it better now that the term's over?" Victoria was truly brilliant. She passed her A-levels phenomenally and had received a full-ride scholarship to study English Literature and history or something.

"Much better. Did you need something because Ellie and I are about to go out shopping and you know I don't like driving while on the phone."

"Dad is planning on taking you, Alex, and I someplace for a holiday around the twentieth. You in? And yes, Stacey is coming." None of us particularly liked Stacey- it's not that she was horrible, she was just obnoxious and quite blunt to the point that it was rude.

"Oh, God... She's still hanging around? Well, yeah, I can go. I'll call Dad later and discuss it further but I've got to go now. I love you."

"Love you too." I got up from the sofa and walked out onto the back porch. It was pretty warm outside, so I took off my cardigan and adjusted my dress. My phone beeped, notifying me that I had received a message from Harry.

'I didn't make it in... I'll talk to you about it when you pick me up but they're calling me and a few other boys back in for something. xx' My stomach immediately dropped and I felt like I was going to be sick. I didn't message him back because I figured he was busy and I didn't want to interrupt him, so I stepped down onto the stairs and sat looking up at the sky. I wondered why they didn't put him through while I watched an airplane stream across the sky.

"Hello?" I said into my phone.

"I made it," Harry said excitedly into the phone.

"Wait, what? I thought- you texted me that you didn't?" I frowned in confusion.

"I'll explain when you come pick me up!" I heard people cheering in the background and smiled at how excited him and the others in the background sounded.

I stood up and walked back inside, "Yeah, okay. I'm on my way. I'll see you in ten."

"Congratulations," I said as I snuck up behind Harry.

"Oh my God! You won't even believe what happened. Hey, I'll see you guys later, yeah?" Harry said to the four other boys standing opposite to me. I smiled at them as I wrapped my arm around Harry's waist. The boys nodded and we headed back to my car.

"So, tell me all about it," I said once we were in the car.

"You won't even believe it. Okay, so I sang, you know-"

"Naturally," I teased.

"And then after everyone had sng they called us back in and only called like twenty or so guys and my name wasn't called so that's when I texted you. I was a proper mess, they were interviewing me while I cried and it was horrible. But then they called me and those four other guys, that I was talking to out there, back in, along with four other girls. Turns out that they thought we'd be better if we were put into two different groups. So now I'm in a group with those four lads and it's just insane. Like me out of all the other people, they choose. It's just incredible!"

"I'm really proud of you, Harry. I told you that you'd make it," I said as I patted his hand.

"It's just incredible. I can't even fathom what happened."
