"So there's this party tonight? I was wondering, do you wanna come to mine and we could go? Actually no don't answer that you coming anyway I'm forcing you." she was nodding to herself, she looked at me hopefully. Well I guess it couldn't hurt.

"Yeah okay, who's party?"

"Thomas. Its sort of like an end of the year party. So you gotta look good cause you don't want people remembering you for the wrong things." She almost squealed his name, trying to cover up with the extra sentences added. She stopped and looked at her food smiling.

Well now might be the time I could start to carry out my tasks.

I walked through the door of the kitchen. My mum was sitting on the counter texting on her phone. Seriously sometimes she acts more like an older sister than a mother. I walked up to her slowly and put my hand over the screen of her phone. Her face hardened.

"Hey get off!" She said while looking up. Her face softened when she realised it was just me.

"Oh hey darling. How was school?" She asked in a caring tone.

"Good I guess, like any other day." I laughed.

"-but I was wondering if I could go to this party tonight, my friend wanted me to be there?"

I might sound like a good girl, but I respect my mum and everything she has been through, with loosing Dad and all. I always ask if I can go places so that she knows that she can trust me. I don't want to break her heart as well.

"Yess! Yess!" she squeeled.

I smiled and walked up the stairs to my room. I heard her from downstairs.

"My baby's finally growing up." I laughed to myself, while starting to pack everything I needed for Liz's house.

My phone vibrated in my pocket. I pulled it out and looked at the text.
