EXTENDED SUMMARY: Cher Caffiero-Horowitz, Beverly Hills' spoiled little princess, has no idea how she went from living in the most glamorous of neighborhoods in LA to the worst of the worst, also known as Freeridge. All she knows is that her daddy's face is on every news channel in America under headlines claiming that his company stole everything, that his bank accounts are all frozen, and that there's nothing left to do but wait for the trial. And in the meantime, Freeridge is all Cher's former stepbrother Josh can afford for the two of them, having the savings of a Law grad student.
Freeridge is, of course, very different from everything Cher's ever known, and she doesn't like it one bit. She can't go shopping just for the hell of it anymore, she doesn't know anyone in her new neighborhood, and she feels as if everybody is always making fun of her and her Kylie-inspired pink hair in a language she doesn't understand.
The only good thing about moving has to be Monse Finnie: simply the cutest, fiercest and most intelligent girl Cher has ever met — who also makes her lips curl into smiles involuntarily, her heart beat a lot faster and her palms get all sweaty. But Cher can't understand why Monse makes her feel this way, or why she and her friends are always keeping secrets from her.
Let's just say, she's just totally clueless.

—cher is a lesbian this can't change sorry
—she is really confused about her sexuality (she's never genuinely liked a boy but she feels as if she should) and tbh so is monse, who just slept with cesar before writing camp and all that so this should be a slow burn whilst they both try to figure out themselves
—cher is half argentine (on her dad's side) and half american (on her mother's side), but she's lived in beverly hills her entire life
—don't make josh and cher a thing in this please ?!? she's 15 ew
—her friends (christian, dionne, tai) are all from beverly hills, so she's pretty much on her own in freeridge
—like the way it was told in the movie, cher's mom passed away when she was very little so she only had her dad and multiple stepmoms before the whole scandal
—her personality is basically the same as movie cher's, like completely oblivious and bubbly (she legit doesn't notice she's like one of the only white chicks at school), but she begins to open her eyes once she realizes some harsh realities about freeridge and the struggles that poc face, especially after the halloween incident with olivia and that white asshole
—she could become friends with ruby first ! or with jasmine, and she starts to hang out more with monse through them !
—this is mainly awkward flirting and superb cute wlw fluff, in this house we don't need angst
—considering this story should deal with white privilege at some point, it'd be pretty weird if a white person wrote it lmao. you just gotta be informed to write it i guess
—give wlw a happy ending thank you very much and good night
