That Summer

Part 2: New Friends

I walked home as the sun started to set. I walked to the back door and spotted Simon in the kitchen when i walked in.

"Hey, little sister!" he hugged me then continued cooking.

"Hungry?" he asked. "I just ate, but thank you. I'm going to get some sleep."

"Do you want to surf in the morning with me and my friends?" he asked as I got to the stairs. "Maybe." I answered as i went up to my room.

I woke up the next morning to simon knocking on my door.

"You coming or not?" he asked as I opened the door.

"Yeah, i will be ready in 5." i closed the door and ran to my bathroom.

I did my makeup, waterproof of course. I grabbed my sketchbook and pencils, threw them in my bag then threw on my swimsuit and a pair of jean shorts. I threw my hair up in a messy bun then I put on a headband and threw on my sandals. I grabbed my wet suit and ran down stairs.

Simon threw me a slice of toast, I put it in my mouth as I walked out to his truck. I put my stuff in the back seat and went to the garage and grabbed my board, I put it in the back of the truck where Simons already was.

I hopped in the passenger seat as Simon buckled up. I put on my seatbelt as he began to pull out the driveway.

"Dad and my mom are on their anniversary getaway this week, they will be back Monday." Simon informed me. "Want to go to the diner for dinner tonight for dinner?" "yeah." I replied to his question.

We pulled into the parking lot and grabbed our suits and boards.

I slipped into my teal and black wetsuit then walked into the water with simon.

We paddled out to where we could watch for waves.

A large one was coming. "It's all yours!" Simon told me so I started paddling.

After about and hour of riding wave after wave we headed in. we dried off and headed to the boardwalk. "The guys and I are going to hang. I will call you later, go make some friends." Simon then ran off to go find his friends leaving me alone.

I walked onto the boardwalk looking at all the things I could do. "You look new!" I turned to see a girl my age staring at me. "I am." I replied giving her a smile. She smiled back. She had tanned skin and beach waves in her hair. "My name is Nina, whats yours?" "Cameron." we shook hands and both busted out laughing after.

Nina and I played arcade games then explored all the food places. Nina and I talked about local places and made plans to go cave exploring.

My phone started ringing when we were sitting in the food court just chilling and talking. "Hello brother" I answered Simon's call. "Any luck making friends?" he asked.

"Yes, i'm a very social person if you didn't notice." "such a jokester cam, i'm going to head out so meet me at the truck." he hung up. "I have to go, but here is my number." I typed it into a contact on her phone. We waved goodbye and i headed to Simon's truck. When I got in he just ended a call. "We are going to a party tonight after dinner."

The party was being held at a kids house that The guys all went to school with. When I walked in almost everyone was looking at me. I spotted Nina and we hung out. "Your new, so every guy will want to try to get with you." Nina told me.

"I have a date already, with Blake." I told her. Her face lit up with excitement. "He's the super shy type of guy but every girl wants him him and all his friends are like the players. Also be careful of Kath, she acts like she owns him. They dated for a few weeks then she cheated on him" Nina then pointed out Kath.

She was super pretty, like model pretty. She had a sharp bone structure and curly long brown hair. "She is so fake, so not Blake's type."

After the party Simon was drunk as were all the guys, except, Blake who only had one drink but was being responsible and let me take him home as well. They were all just going to crash at our place, in Simons room.

Blake helped me throw Vince, Simon and Mitch in the back seat. Blake jumped in the passenger side. Nina then came and knocked on my window. "I can I crash at your place?" she asked "yeah jump in the back."

she pushed the guys over and jumped in. "lets hope we don't get pulled over." I told Blake and he laughed as he ran his hand through his hair. "Cam is my professional dd, she used to have to pick me and Ashley up from bars all last summer." Simon told his friends. "Who's Ashley?" Mitch asked. "Our older sister." Simon told him before he went into a long rant about how he loved his family.

I pulled into the driveway and got out. Blake threw Vince over his shoulder, Nina helped Simon and I practically dragged Mitch. We dropped them in the living room and Nina went and grabbed the bottled water from the fridge.

Nina and I passed out in my bed after we changed into pajamas.
