The Unexpected (Teen Pregnancy)

Chapter One

Ash's POV

It's time to go back to school after Christmas Break I'm about four months and the bump is evident. When I first found out I only told my best friend Megan but I didn't have the guts to tell Sean, my mom or anyone else for that matter. But I was determined to keep it a secret for as long as I could, so yesterday I went looking for a big sweater that matched the schools uniform code. My mom had noticed I'd been eating more than usual but she just brushed it off as 'stress eating'. I didn't argue.

*BEEEEEEEP*

I heard the car horn from outside, Megan was here to pick me up. It's okay no one will notice, just go and act normal I said to myself trying to calm down. So with that I opened the door with a smile on my face and we drove off to the school.

As I was getting the necessary books from my locker someone stood next me smiling. Alex. We've been friends for a while and he's always had a crush on me or 'fancies' me as he likes to call it.

"Ash! How you been?" he questioned happily trying to go in for a hug but I stopped him cause he would definitely feel the bump. I felt bad but I couldn't risk anything.

"I-I've been good, sorry I'm a little sick I don't wanna give you anything." I said coming up with an excuse and throwing in a fake cough.

He looked at me questionably before saying "Okaaaay then..." Yeah he wasn't buying it. "Well can I walk you to class?"

"Geek we have the same class, and you always walk me." I replied smiling a little, I admit that crush he's had on me is a vise versa situation I just never had the guts to say anything.

*Lunch Time*

Sitting at my usual table with the usual people, Megan, Alex, Cayte, Nicki and Jake. The only thing that wasn't usual was my tray, since I was on the cheerleading team we were expected to keep an 'image' I guess you could say. I would usually always get a salad, water and just treat myself with some low fat pudding on good days. But today my tray consisted of today's macaroni, cheese fries, chicken bites, Pepsi and ice-cream. Everyone stared except Alex. Megan with understanding, but worried probably about what everyone would say. Nicki and Cayte were part of the cheerleading team as well. So of course Nicki being the captain spoke first.

"Ash.. You do know our practice beings today and we don't need that coming back up.."

She said but it seemed as of she wanted to say more but didn't have the heart to. Yeah she was captain but she wasn't like those bitchy ones in the movies. And then Cayte being Cayte and her bitchy self. Whispered right after.

"Or getting fatter.." I guess she was hoping no one would hear. But that hope faded when I stood up and almost screamed.

"Excuse me?" I said most definitely pissed off, then again I had to remember they didn't know.

"Ash come on, I think everyone's noticed you've put on some pounds during the break. Your getting fat and eating like that won't help." Had everyone really noticed? I saw everyone else put their head down except Alex and Megan. Great here come the hormones I thought as my eyes began to well up with tears and I ran as fast as I could out the door outside, till I reached the bench. I sat down and started sobbing like if it was an Olympic sport. But in a matter of seconds Alex came out and ran to me as soon as he spotted me. He sat down next to me rubbing my back in a circular motion.

"Don't listen to her she's an idiot. Ash your perfect, please don't cry. I hate seeing you cry. Please." He pleaded I looked up and saw his eyes full of worry.

"Alex but it's true! It's true! Don't tell me you haven't noticed!" I said exasperated not giving the big picture away yet. Yup yet, I was gonna tell him. Right now.

"All I ever notice about you is how beautiful you look everyday and that beautiful smile of yours with those eyes that just make me want you more." He said with his voice full of sincerity.

"Alex.. I understand if you wanna walk away after I tell you this but there's something really important I need to tell you.."

"What is it..?"

"I-I'm.. I'm pr-regnant." I looked down, scared of his reaction.

"Oh god.. Ash.." He said before picking me up as I wrapped my legs around his waist and he gave me one of the longest hugs I've ever received and kept whispering comforting things in my ear.

After my over emotional scenario, I obviously had to let Nicki know I was quitting the squad for 'family issues'. She apologized for Cayte then had to go for practice.

Right now I was with Alex at Yogurtland since Meg was also at practice. I knew he would have questions so we both agreed this was a good location.

After getting my red velvet flavored yogurt with some cookie dough and condensed milk topping, I sat down in front of Alex.

"OkaysoIkindahadsexwithseanatthatpartybeforeiknewhewasgayandnow, yeah" I said as fast as I could.

"Okayyyyy... So you had sex with Sean Matthews, that even before he 'came out' was already known as a one man gay pride parade?.." He asked confused but slightly amused.

"Yes, I know I know it was stupid but I don't know. I just don't know what was running through my head."

"How far along?"

"About four months."

"Who knows so far and how long ago did you find out?"

"You and Meg, and two months ago. I'm so sorry I didn't tell you sooner it was just a lot to take in." I replied hoping he wouldn't be mad I waited so long.

"Don't worry, it's not my place to be mad but what about Sean? And your mom, you haven't told her? Then how have you gone to the doctors? You have gone haven't you? Cause what if there's something wro-"

"Alex.. Caaalm. Okay and I don't know how I'm supposed to tell Sean. No, I haven't told my mom. I've been going to Planned Parenthood, they don't let my mom know anything until I tell her. Yes, and everything's perfectly fine. I actually have an appointment tomorrow." I said cutting him off, but very amused at how worried he got.

"Can I go?" He said almost at the speed of light as if everything else I had said was non-important. I let out a laugh and replied "Welcome to come if you want, I don't really mind."

"I'm so coming." He said full of seriousness finishing the yogurt and tossing it in the bin.
