❝I know you are hurting.❞ He whispered, ❝but hold on, just a little longer.❞
There are no words which can explain the pain she felt when she stood in front of her parents' coffin. There was an ocean of unshed tears in her eyes, a burning flame in he...

It was winter now, it appeared that somebody had laid a glistening white sheet over the entire place. The bitter cold swept through my woolen sweater as I waited for my best friend to come, waiting under the dark grey, clouded sky. The season was like me, cold and miserable.
Today was the last day before the winter break, the school hallway was still filled with students as they shared their plans for the holidays and hugged each other. There were a few girls standing in the corner, whispering and staring, at me. I clenched my fist and looked straight at them, there was this urge to ask them to mind their own business but I held my anger in, took a deep breath and turned away.
"I am sorry for being late, Nora. Reed wanted to make plans for tonight." She gave me an apologetic smile.
Amy Noelle was more than a good friend to me. She always had a smile on her face and was a ray of sunshine. It has only been a year since we met but she has already taken a place in my heart. She was easy to be around, understanding and kind.
"It is okay. Can we leave now?" She nodded and I followed behind her, away from the prying eyes of my sister and her friends.
Kiara looked at me, her fiery blue eyes, just like mine. The red jacket she wore matched the bright red lipstick on her lips. Everyone knew that she wasn't fond of me. After the incident, she hated me. We didn't have moments where we braided each other's hair or shared secrets in our childhood, we always had a distance between us. I wished she had seen me more as a sister instead of an enemy.
I didn't realize we were staring at each other for a long time until Amy started the car. The surface of the car which should have been a glossy violet was hidden by a layer of frost. She shrugged, letting me know that she was too lazy to clean it up in the morning and I rolled my eyes, slipping into the passenger seat.
"Do you want to hang out at the cafe?" She asked something that she asked almost every day.
The cafe around the corner was opened two months ago, known for their coffee and pastries. I have never been there, the reasons being that it was the place where students from my school hung out and I preferred the silence of my room. Amy visited there always, after the school hours, sipping on her coffee and reading books.
