Mitch’s POV
Kirstie fearlessly jumps off a snow peak into mid air.
“Hang on!” I said to her.
“Catch me!” Kirstie says.
I make another peak to catch Kirstie, “Gotcha!”
Kirstie keeps jumping. I keep casting magic. But then Kirstie jumps faster, “Again!”
I struggling to keep up, “wait!”
But Kirstie doesn’t hear me. She’s still jump faster, “woohoo!” she shouts.
“Slow down!”I yell at her.
But then...I suddenly slip because the ice. I fall down on the floor. But I saw Kirstie still jumps. I look at her when she’s going to fall down the floor.
“whooo!”
“Kirstie!!!” My magic accidentally STRIKE Kirstie in the head.
Kirstie tumbles down a snowbank and lands, unconscious. I shock. I run to Kirstie and take her in my arms, “Kirstie...”
A streak of Kirstie’s hair, where struck, turns white. I shock.
“MAMA! PAPA!”
What should I do now? I’m afraid what if something bad’s happened to her?
“No...no...”
The room around them fills with frightening ice spikes. I’m about to cry.
“Don’t worry, Kirstie... I got you” I hug her. Try to keep her warm.
My parents burst through the frozen door. GASP at the sight of the room.
“Mitchell, what have you done?” He looks around,”This is getting out of hand!”
My mom sees Kirstie. She looks shockful. Then dad and mom rush to us.
“Kirstin!” dad calls Kirstie’s name.
I see them, “it was an accident!” I look at Kirstie, “I’m sorry, Kirstie...”
My parents then take Kirstie in their arms.
Mom carries Kirstie and feels the cold in Kirstie’s body temperature, “Oh..She’s ice cold.”
“...I know where we have to go.” Says dad. My mom looking at dad hopefully.
In the library, dad sifts through a shelf to find an ancient book inscribed with Old Norse runes. He opens the book, scrambles to a page with an ancient map.
My parents rushly Carrying me and kirstie. We rie horses out of the kingdom. But snow streams from my hands, leaving a trail of ice behind us.
Scott’s POV
I and Avi are sleepy though. We travel alone through the dark woods. All of a sudden, the King and Queen race by with their kids. Then I take a look on the grass, it fulls of ice.
ICE!! That’s weird. Are they bringing ice with their horse?
I can’t stop looking at the ice.
“Ice?”
I ride Avi as we follow the trail of ice, “Faster, Avi!”
We arrive. At the troll’s place. I hop off Avi at the edge of a deep valley.
“Avi!”
Avi comes back to me. But Avi still wants to follow the king, he tries to come out. I catch him and stroke his head. We hide behind a rock and peek out.
Down below, the King holds a frightened boy. The Queen holds the girl.
“Please, help! It’s My daughter!” The king says.
Suddenly, a bunch of rocks tumble down the valley toward them. It looks as though they’ll be crushed!
But, luckily, the rocks stop at their feet. The rocks then unfold, revealing bright faces.
“It’s the king!” say the one of them.
“Trolls...?” I ask with a low voice.
The rock in front of me suddenly wakes up, “Shush.. I’m trying to listen.” She says.
She grabs me and Avi by hand and hoof and hugs us close. Avi licks her face and she eyes us both, “Cuties! I’m going to keep you.” She says.
Back below, the crowd parts for a troll as old as the Earth. They call him GRAND PABBIE. He approaches arthritically, but determined. He nods respectfully to the king.
“Your Majesty.” Grand Pabbie referring to the boy, “Born with the powers or cursed?”
The king answer, “Born. And they’re getting stronger.” He knelt on the ground to speak with grand Pabbie.
Grand Pabbie motions for the Queen to bring Kirstie to him, “Here, here”
The queen does. Grand Pabby examines the girl, “You are lucky it wasn’t her heart. The heart is not so easily changed, but the head can be persuaded.”
“Do what you must.” Says the king.
“I recommend we remove all magic, even memories of magic to be safe.... But don’t worry, I’ll leave the fun.” Grand Pabbie pulls out a glowing blue energy from the girl’s head.
We see her memories floating right above her. Grand Pabbie changes all of her magical memories to ordinary memories - snowy play indoors with the girl in her nightgown changes to outdoors on the winter fjords with the girl in winter gear.
Grand Pabby puts the ordinary memories back in her head, “She will be okay.”
“But she won’t remember I have powers?” The boy asks to Grand Pabby.
“It’s for the best.” Says the king.
The boy looks at his hands.
“Listen to me, Mitchell, your power will only grow...” Grand pabby explains. As he speaks, he conducts the Northern Lights to show a silhouette of an adult boy creating magical snowflakes. The boy’s looking at it.
“...There is beauty in your magic....But also great danger...”
The snowflakes turn to sharp spikes.
“...You must learn to control it...”
In the Northern Lights display, the sharp spikes cause human figures to panic and attack The boy.
“...Fear will be your enemy.”
