Johns POV:

Jefferson taught me simple things first, he taught me how to spell and sign welcomings. When Alex went outside I was looking for a sign teacher. Jefferson was the only one with great ratings so I emailed him to see if he could come over today and he agreed. After a few minutes of learning, we called it a day. Jefferson left and I went to Alex. He signed,  'understand me?' was all I could get out of what he signed. "Kind of. I know the basics," I told him.

He smiled brightly. It was a beautiful smile, I liked it. It seemed foreign on his face. Almost forced. That didn't matter. I walked into the living room and turned the tv on. Alex soon came to join me, despite being blind he knew exactly what was happening. I stared at his features. Medium sized Chocolate brown hair, fairly tanned skin, and dull, blank, brown eyes. they were still beautiful. He stared at the tv his blinded eyes filled with excitement. His eyes seemed fixated on the tv like he could see everything that's happening.

I wish he could see me and talk to me. I love him as much as I hate to admit it. I sighed and got up. He looked at me and furrowed his eyebrows. "I'm going to go get some popcorn"

He looked at me like I had 3 heads. He signed 'Whats that?'

I gasped. "You don't know what popcorn is?"

He shook his head. "I'll get you some popcorn."

I leave the bedroom and went into the kitchen. I grabbed the popcorn and set it in the microwave. The familiar *Pops* were satisfying. I felt a sting of fear, a colour of gray splashed in my vision. I set the bowl down and went to the bedroom. I saw Alexander hiding under the blanket in fear. His body jolted everytime the popcorn popped. I touched Alex's arm, I saw things. Alex, his father, his blindness.

Alex memory:

I saw a man, he looked a little bit like Alex. I was guessing that he was Alexander's father. I saw a boy, about 10. He was cleaning up very expensive looking plates. He reached up to grab one of the plates. When he did the plate beside it toppled. The boy's eyes widen as the plate comes crashing down to the floor. CRASH! The plate shattered into a million pieces, the boy grabbed the shards not afraid of the glass that was cutting his palm and fingers. A door slammed open and shut, the boy winced prepared for contact. The man picked up the boy and threw him against a wall, I heard a crack. The boy cried out in pain.

(I should probably mention now that there is mention of abuse. sorry)

I was paralyzed, I wanted to help but I couldn't move. The boy stayed on the ground but the man kept beating him. Kicking his stomach and face as hard as he could. I saw the man's mouth moving but I couldn't hear what he was saying. The man picked the boy up and threw him into a tank of dull green liquid. The boy hugged himself when he was in the tank. I was able to move now, I walked over to the tank and put my hand onto it. He looked up, his mouth moved to the words saying "Help me."

There was a sound of machinery moving. The boys' eyes grew wide with fear as he looked at me. Pleading. Wanting to leave. Scared for his life. There was another clank and clunk before the tank began to ascend to the ceiling. Then I heard it. A crack of electricity and an earsplitting scream. I looked up at the tank as bolts of electricity shot into it. I covered my ears, attempting to drown out the sound. It didn't work it only echoed it. The screaming stopped along with the electricity. He uncovered his ears to see the tank descend back to the floor. The boy was hugging himself again but he was unconscious.

I went to go touch the glass again but then I noticed something. A man stood behind me. He was the one that did this to the poor boy. I turned around to face him but what he said startled me. "So you are the one that is helping Alexander?"

His voice was haunting. echoing throughout the room. I nodded as bravely as I could. He laughed an eerie laugh. "You think you can save him." He grinned. "You can't save him from something inside his head"

I Clenched my fists. How dare he! He's hurting Alexander with these dreams and memories. I swear to save Alexander from this monster. I grabbed a metal bar and went to go swing at him. Before I could hit him, I was frozen in time again.  "You thought you could just end me here?" He laughed "What a fool"

He snapped his fingers. I was engulfed in darkness.

END OF MEMORIES!!

I finally came to back in my dorm. I looked at Alexander who was awake as well. He was shaking and staring at me. He signed. 'You saw'

I nodded. He hugged me as I thought he has gone through so much that I don't know. I wanted to talk to him and have him answer me. I knew he couldn't but I wanted him to. "Why don't we go for a walk?"

Alexander nodded and stood up. I grabbed the keys and we both headed for the door. Once we were outside we just walked. No talking. Just walking in comfortable silence. It felt nice. Alex turned to me and smiled. It didn't seem foreign anymore. Alex froze, he moved his head as if looking for sound. I heard laughs, high pitched female ones. They were coming from behind us but Alexander was too afraid to know where it was coming from. He began to back up only to back up into 3 girls. The Schuyler sisters.

They laughed. "Look who we found. The crippled boy."

"He can't do anything about it now can he?"

"Your soulmate will never love you"

They whispered things into his ears. Tears threatened but Alex forced them back. I growled and push them away. "STAY AWAY FROM HIM!"

They all look at each other in shock but soon they recovered. "You will regret that John Laurens. They all left as Alex fell to the ground. I picked him up and took him into the Dorm room setting him on the bed. What did they mean? How will I regret it? That was something I was not looking for.
