Chapter 12.

Sakura glanced downwards, while Esmae looked directly towards Arikuno. Esmae's world around herself was slowly disappearing, she clutched the rose's thorns tightly. "Esmae Esmae Esmae, how foolish of you to fall for a guy who's out of your league." Esmae glanced downwards, she gathered up a bouquet of flowers and smiled, handing them to him. "Esmae can't you see? Or are you blind in your mind and eye." Esmae glanced downwards, the sky darkened just as the moonlight shone on the 2. "I.....I could never see..." Arikuno glared at her, frowning in disappointment. "Well your clearly blind that you're insane!!! And forever will be." Arikuno slapped the roses out of her hands and grabbed her wrists, almost snapping them. "I.....I just wanted to be........" Esmae's words were cut short just as Arikuno threw her onto the ground, pulling out a pistol and aiming it straight for her. "You were never loved, never loved by anyone. Never loved by seth, Aimi, Alex.... Or avery." All of the memories of avery were flashing before esmae's eyes, how they'd always talk about meeting and having Starbucks before her life ended in a brutal hell. Then a sweet memory of the two flickered before her eyes:

Avery sat on a cherry blossom's tree branch, with Esmae sitting beside him smiling. "Esmae?" Esmae looked towards avery smiling, her eyes flashed to a bright ocean blue. Would she finally admit how she felt for him this whole time? "Mm?" Esmae smiled and reached for avery's hand, but yet slowly retracting. "Promise me... That you'll never leave?" Esmae smiled and teared up, embracing avery tightly in a pinky promise. "I promise." Esmae looked directly in Avery's eyes smiling, she never felt this way for anyone. Never. Esmae kissed avery's cheek softly and blushed majorly, smiling at her embarrassment. "You're weird, you know that right?" Avery smiled and gazed into esmae's eyes, grabbing ahold of esmae's hands. "We're all weird, let's face that." Esmae giggled and hugged avery tightly, Esmae leapt off of the branch towards the Rose garden. She smiled as she picked roses, shyly handing them to avery. "I....I love roses... But roses are sweet and nice so they remind me of you..." Esmae smiled and looked towards the moon, the stars twinkling brightly. "Aw, Esmae..." Avery brushed aside Esmae's bangs while he smiled. "And I swear, that I promise to always be there for you, I'll protect you with every life that I have. I promise that I'll be your guardian." Avery clenched the roses tightly, wrapping his arms around esmae. her heart fluttering as the promise she would fulfil her life destiny.

Present; Esmae smiled, she looked towards the barrel of the gun, she gripped the roses while smiling ridiculously. "What? Why are you smiling?" Esmae got up, slamming the gun to the ground. "Because. I learned true love... And I'm my own hero." Esmae soccer kicked Arikuno's stomach, grabbing the pistol as Arikuno fell onto the ground, crawling towards a field of roses. "Trust... Friendship.... Respect!!!!" Esmae aimed the gun at Arikuno, her purple eye darkening. "You're like a Rose.... Sweet to smell.. But twisted and evil." Esmae laughed sarcastically at Arikuno's remark. "Red like Roses." She smiled twistedly, her trigger finger itching. "You're just my imagination!!! You are never real!!! You're just a player... A CHEATER!!!!" Arikuno's eyes Widened, this is esmae's twisted side.. A side nobody would wanna see. "Now let's play chess... Oh wait we have." Esmae pointed the pistol towards her left and shot stormy in the head. Her eyes a bright blood shot red. "And now that I have your queen..." Arikuno sobbed and crawled backwards "Please please no!!!!" The wind picked up, the field of roses swaying gracefully, brushing aside esmae's hair and lifting up her uniform slightly. The sky was a sunrise Haze, the sun barely rising. "And now...." Esmae smiled. This felt right to do, to finally stand up for herself instead of cowarding. "Checkmate."
